I ordered these and as usual Amazon shipped promptly. The set came in a single case with two 2 sided dvd's and marking in the inner circle with VERY small writing as to which movie it was (and on one side only). DVD 1 had the first two and DVD 2 had the second two. Kinda disappointed in that but was doable. The case was a double case inside and on the back of the case had what looked like a slice in the had plastic. Didnt go all the way through but did tear the paper insert.
Movie 1 played but had skips and stops, Movie 2 had more and wasn't even watchable. Movie 3 wouldn't even load the menu. Was able to watch the 4th movie though.
Initiated a return through Amazon and as usual it was painless. Odd that I had to reorder though instead of Amazon automagically sending a replacement. UPS showed the next day and took the defective and showed the following day with my replacements.
Opened the replacements up and inside were 4 DVD's with the actual movie stamping on the discs like you would expect when buying individual movies. Case appears to be the same as the original purchase and even had the same gouge in the plastic case as the first one.
Just finishing up watching the 4th dvd. All played flawlessly and am much happier with the 4 dvd's instead of the two 2 sided ones. As long as you get the 4 dvd's I'd recommend them :)
Oh and the movies are in widescreen format. Not a big fan of that but seems most are going to that and its being forced on the rest of us. Thankfully my DVD player has a zoom so I can make it fill the screen.
After I watched/reviewed Final Destination 5 a few years ago, I was quite curious as to what happened in the other 4 movies. I really enjoyed the horror and gore of it all. At the beginning of each movie, the main hero/heroine has a vision or a premonition about the catastrophic event(s) that are about to occur. And unlike Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street, it is a nameless face -- Death itself -- that comes to haunt and stalk the characters into killing them.
In the first installment, everyone dies on Flight 180. Alex Browning goes completely into gonzo mode when he warns everyone that the plane is about to explode. After he, Clear Rivers (Ali Larter) and others are let off of the plane, his warning comes to pass. The police can't quite figure out HOW he knew what was going to happen. So, throughout the movie, each character that was SUPPOSED to die will eventually meet their maker. The producers/writers really gave it their all when they decided what would happen to every person. My particular favorite was Seann William Scott's demise -- he was decapitated! And yes, he DOES inject a lot of humor (because, after all, he's well known for playing Stifler in the American Pie movies) -- "I knew I should have felt up Tammy in that pool!" Seann is a real riot!! :)
Final Destination 2-- Andrea Joy Cook (best known as "A.J.", she's one of the main characters in the crime drama series "Criminal Minds") has a vision of a catastrophic car crash. A.J. is not only smoking HOT, but is an awesome screamer!! This was actually my favorite beginning death scene from the entire 4 movies.Read more ›
However at the beginning of each movie, one of main characters has a Vision of an upcoming disaster. Foresee's the deaths of a large number of people, and is able to save some of them. That sounds good, sounds heroic. It doesn't work that way.
People were alive passed their time, they weren't supposed to live passed that disaster. They'd cheated Death, and that's not allowed - Death doesn't relinquish a claim. Death comes back for the survivors. One by one they die, in the order they were originally meant to. Each death looks like an accident - a bloody, gory, terrifying accident. In this series people are Stalked by Death Itself.
The first two are the best. The original was the scariest, and had the most suspenseful. The second one was a true sequel. The disaster and the survivors were actually connected to the events in the original.
The third wasn't as good, but still enjoyable. The only connection to the original was when the survivors learned about the plane crash in the original.
Wish the series had stopped at 3, the 4th is a waste of film.

These movies are awful, but I was telling my son about them and he insisted we buy it. DVDs came in fine condition, but are honestly some of the worst movies ever. Ha. Sorry.Published 24 days ago by betty
I like the concept of the plot and enjoy these movies. They aren't overly cerebral, but a fun way to kill a couple of hours.Published 2 months ago by Bill
