This review is from: Film Production Management 101: The Ultimate Guide for Film and Television Production Management and Coordination (Michael Wiese Productions) (Paperback)
In development on a new feature film, this book has proved to be very helpful. From setting up the production checking accout, to offering a few dozen production forms, it is proving invaluable.

5.0 out of 5 stars After reading, I felt like I'd worked on at least several films., September 7, 2009
This review is from: Film Production Management 101: The Ultimate Guide for Film and Television Production Management and Coordination (Michael Wiese Productions) (Paperback)
Very thorough, and she is obviously experienced at Prod Man and is/was quite good at it. Put me in touch with the entire production management process, and made me feel as though I'd gone through it a couple of times, at least. I now have a deep familiarity with it - and principle photography - that I have only touched on in the past with a set visit here and there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply The Best!!!, September 5, 2009
This review is from: Film Production Management 101: The Ultimate Guide for Film and Television Production Management and Coordination (Michael Wiese Productions) (Paperback)
Great book! Even if you're an experienced UPM there are things to be learned here, so don't let 101 in the title fool you. Each chapter includes a quick story from some past production most of which are laugh out loud funny. The book is huge, it's worth every dollar and more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything I could have hoped for... and more., July 6, 2009
This review is from: Film Production Management 101: The Ultimate Guide for Film and Television Production Management and Coordination (Michael Wiese Productions) (Paperback)
I ordered this item to prepare for a larger assignment and have to say I have been extremely impressed with the amount of information I have gleaned through reading this book.

Definitely laid out as a practical, highly readable guide to the jobs of Production Manager and Production Coordinator, I was very pleasantly surprised by the obvious years of experience in one volume. This book takes you through an entire production, from the initial interview all the way to the very end.

It is - by far - one of the more exhaustive books on the production business side of filmmaking and should be a "must read" for anyone training and practicing for the role of UPM or PC. I was especially impressed with the continuous use of "To Do" lists to illustrated the roles during every phase of the production process.

I cannot more highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great window into film production., December 17, 2005

This book is written mainly from the point of view of the Production Manager (PM), and since the PM is really at the pivot point of the entire production process, this book gives us a great view into every step of that process. If you want to know what happens when they make movies, read this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Film Production Management 101 Review, October 16, 2007
This review is from: Film Production Management 101: The Ultimate Guide for Film and Television Production Management and Coordination (Michael Wiese Productions) (Paperback)
From what I have already read from the book, it seems to be a clear and understandable read, not to mention the content is professional and applicable to the subject matter. In other words, this book was not written by amateurs. They have had experience in this field, and this becomes useful for the reader, especially for college students who want to get into this field. Great buy and it came highly recommended by my Video Productions Management professor!

"If you have produced a low-budget independent movie and want to apply for a job with any Hollywood Production Company, this is the book that you MUST read before you go in for the interview. It explains the way that Hollywood Motion Picture Productions are managed." -- RMS
