Good-not great...,

John Alexanders book on Lynch is a good, but far from great, study of this wonderful madman (and I mean that in the nicest way...really). There are some interesting ideas, but also some rather unconvincing ones. My favorite Lynch book is the one by Chion - a much more compelling analysis. If you're really in to Lynch you should read this book also, of course, but if you're just planning on reading ONE book about him go with Chion. (Also; note that this book is old, it was written before Lynch's last couple of movies)
