Book Description

November 8, 1996
For 20 years Frazer Hines, who first made his name as the little Scottish assistant to Patrick Troughton's Doctor Who in the 1960s, played the character Joe Sugden in the television soap opera, "Emmerdale". In this autobiography he tells of the break-up of his marriage to the actress Gemma Craven, what it was like on the set of "Emmerdale", and how he got the part in "Doctor Who". He also brings his life up to date with his marriage to an Olympic waterskier, his television and pantomime work, and his stud farm in Yorkshire.

5.0 out of 5 stars For Fans of Doctor Who., September 25, 2008
This review is from: Films, Farms and Fillies Pb (Paperback)
For those of you that are Doctor Who fans and want to know more about the actor that played Jamie McCrimmon, Films, Farms and Fillies is the book for you. It was written by Frazer Hines(who played Jamie from 1966-1969.) and is a very interesting read. It goes through his childhood up until 1994 and gives you insight to his life and career. From being chased by his older brother, Ian, while wearing a werewolf mask, when he was little to falling off a horse during a race he was in. From being in a movie with Charlie Chaplin when he was nine or ten to his roles in Doctor Who and Emmerdale(Farms). From his marriage to his first wife, and the horrific divorce that followed, to his marriage to his second wife. It also explores his love of horses and playing cricket. He writes with such humor and passion that you can't put the book down and the pictures are really nice. I really did enjoy this book and it's worth buying even if you're not a Doctor Who fan.
