This review is from: Films of Fredric March (Paperback)
I am so mixed on this book ... hence only 3 stars.
On the plus side, this book is chockablock full of Freddie March photos, from his childhood and early adulthood, and from all of his movies. The book is worth the price just for the pictures alone. Also, it's a nice, comprehensive catalog of all his films, listed in chronological order. Now the minus: the writing, which is really, REALLY bad! It reminds me of an "junior encyclopedia" geared towards 6th graders! The writing is dreadfully simplistic, and statements are made without any back-up facts or supporting statements. Reading this book will drive you mad. But looking at all the pictures of beautiful, handsome Freddie should soothe your soul! |
