Easily one of the best books on Ingmar Bergman I have ever read!,
By
This review is from: The Films of Ingmar Bergman: From Torment to All These Women. (Paperback)
One of the key works on the life and films of one of the greatest Masters in the history of the cinema. I simply cannot recommend this one highly enough! A chronological assessment of each of Bergman's films from 1944 to 1964. Reprint of 1964 Edition. This oversized paperback book is a First Dover Printing from 1972 of an English translation originally published in 1964 by Indiana University Press, with the title, "The Personal Vision of Ingmar Bergman." It was translated from the original Swedish by Holger Lundbergh. The book includes all the films from Bergman's early career and his most productive years and his greatest Masterpieces. It includes 58 photographic illustrations. "if you are fascinated by the work of this modern master and want to know more about the interconnections, the sources, the background to the various films, Jorn Donner will provide you with the critical insights and information on one of the most profound masters of the modern film, the personal vision of Ingmar Bergman." For fans of the Great Swedish Master, it just doesn't get any better than this!
