Tank's "Filth Hounds of Hades" has got to be one of the meanest and most stripped down sounding albums of the entire NWOBHM. The only band that was able to capture perfectly that strange beer swilling chemistry that made Motorhead such a definitive Metal act.(No surprise. Motorhead's guitarist Fast Eddie Clark produced it.)

This is one of the funnest and most energetic records of the period and one of my personal favorites of the many superb debut albums from that era.

Each track is pretty memorable ripe with good riffs and hooky choruses ranging from awesome butt kickers like "Shellshock", "Run Like Hell" and "Blood Guts and Beer". The lead cuts for sheer awesomeness are "T.W.D.A.M.O", which is one rugged love song and the record's best riff and lead single with "(He fell in love with a) Stormtrooper" one of those songs that ranks with the best of Motorhead and there ilk. Lead guitarist and vocalist Algy Ward really channels the sound of Lemmy on this record and it helps alot.

Any fan of classic Heavy Metal with that biker feel will find this release essential. Motorhead fans will enjoy the album for it's similar yet different kind of sound.
The albums will get increasingly better from here including classics like "Power of the Hunter" and "This Means War".

I have been a Fan of NWOBHM for a while now and Tank is one of my favorites. My favorite Tracks are Struck by Lightning, Run like Hell, and Blood Guts and Beer, but they are all pretty good. This album also features Many bonus Tracks so if you are new to Tank this is a Great album to pick up!
