4.0 out of 5 stars Works great and doesn't have parts that get stuck on my ductwork
This filter does exactly what it is supposed to do and is a good value. The slot my filter goes into is a bit tighter than it should be and the last set of filters used to have carboard strapping that would get stuck on the ductwork. This doesn't have that and it fits perfectly - even though it is the same size as my old filters.

2.0 out of 5 stars buy the cheap ones
not really impressed. it wasnt worth paying extra for and didnt notice a decrease in dust or allergens. you can get by with the lesser ones and they last as long.

When I pull it out after three months it is dirty, so I assume it is doing its job. I haven't noticed any increase/decrease in my utility bills, so I don't think it is overly restrictive.

OK. That is about as much detail as I can give in a review of a paper filter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Filters - I love Amazon!, June 29, 2010

These are perfect. I searched Lowes and Home Depot for this special size and had no luck. On a lark I figured that I would check Amazon and was surprised to find them with free (Prime) shipping. Amazon made my day and now my air conditioner is running much better with this new supply of fresh, high quality filters. Thank you Amazon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for high velocity units, August 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have been having issues with filters basically hosing my unit because of either their thickness or their lack of structural strength. These filters are PERFECT because they are very strong and do not slow down my air flow too much (My unit is very powerful) yet do a great job of filtering... and they do not break apart in the slot as well!

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazon makes it easy, July 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
People usually have two choices on filters: 1) really good ones, and 2) really cheap ones. For many people, the cheap ones probably work just fine. However, if you have severe allergies like I do, then the expensive ones are a burden, but necessary. These filters do what they advertise, especially if you have pets as I do. I have experienced a noticeable difference in air quality since we switched to them. However, I have also found that they do not last as long as they are supposed to. Mine turn really dirty anywhere from 4-6 weeks. It's a judgment call on whether the improved quality is worth the price. For me, it is.

I am delighted to have found these on Amazon, and available through the Prime program. I have struggled to find a store that stocks my size (14x25x1) regularly. Most have the 14x24x1, but not the 25. The price is also very competitive. In WalMart, they run from $6-$8 each for this brand. Amazon is less than $6 each and they deliver to your door! I've added this to my wishlist permanently - I only wish they had a subscription for these!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's an air filter... Not all that exciting but..., December 28, 2011

I've been using these in my house as long as we've lived in it... Going on nine years now. None of us have any major allergy or respiratory issues... And ever since my wife accidentally backed our van over the cat we don't have any pet hair either. So we probably aren't all that hard on our air filters and don't require any of the more exotic (and expensive) Filtrete variants... But these seem to work well and for whatever reason I always have a hard time finding these in the right size at my nearby Target. So the price is right on Amazon and always in stock. Hard to beat that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Work well on my ancient furnace!, December 10, 2011

Hi there,

Purchased these directly from Amazon. Can't vouch for any sold from third parties.

They arrived in a sturdy box of their own, which is nice for storage.

If you have an old, old furnace like me, it's sometimes best to get the lower filtering ones for best furnace performance. These work better at filtering than those blue cheapie ones sold at home improvement stores.

Since they turned out to be around 5 bucks for each filter, I change them out every month that the furnace or air conditioner are being used (my unit combines the two).

Both these 300 MPR and the 600 MPR from Filtrete have worked well. I think these 300 MPR might actually be working even better than the 600's. Since I change them every month, I figured going with the 300 MPR is fine. So far, so good.

Hope that helps!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dust be gone!, November 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These Filtrete filters do their job great and for a great value. With a dog and a cat, a clean filter is a must. I know it is only 300MPR, but anything much higher and my A/C really struggles and would freeze do to the restricted airflow. I replace mine every 3 months and to be able to buy them in a pack of 6 that I can keep by the furnace ensures I will always have a fresh one ready to install. I'm always amazed at how much this filter picks up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Improved circulation of central air., July 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Filtrete 312DC-6 Dust Reduction Filters, 300 MPR, 24 x 24 x 1, 6-Pack (Tools & Home Improvement)
The product 'detail' information was excellent. I was able to make a decision to switch from a 2000MPR to a 300MPR and get more even circulation of my cooled air. It was a much better solution than paying to have 'another' 24 x 24" hole cut in the wall. I'm a happy camper <:O)

5.0 out of 5 stars So glad I found these on Amazon.com!, July 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We have two air returns in our house, and the smaller one is this 12x12x1 size. I used to be able to buy those filters at a regular discount store, but recently all the stores in my town have stopped carrying this size. I was about to give up and buy of of the filters that you cut to size when someone suggested that I try Amazon.com. I was so happy to see they had them. The price was comparable to buying them separately, and now I don't have to worry about buying more for 6 months.

I was looking for a relatively inexpensive furnace/AC filter, but one that was still able to filter out more than just dust particles. Our HVAC service company informed me that using one of the highline 3M filters would be too restrictive for the blower fan and would cause increased wear over the life of the blower. As we just had the blower installed, I did not want to take a chance. I compared blower output with this filter and a $3 dollar local hardware store model, and there is a bit less (hardly measurable) volume air with this filter, but the difference in particulate matter filtration is immense.

This filter is perfect for someone looking for a decent filtration at good price without too much air restriction through the blower. I just bought my second box of 6, and replace each filter every two months.
