I got tired of the overpriced Miele bags ( $5 each, to fill with dirt and throw away? really?) and looked for an alternative. The 3m bags are still more expensive than the cheapest knock off bag, but they are the best engineered. Miele's reincarnated FJM bag now features a clapper valve that is supposed to shut between vacuuming sessions. Problem is, once the bag starts to fill, the debris prevents the valve from closing. This allows the contents to spill out when the bag is removed. 3m continues to use the old slide up door that clicks into place when you remove the full bag. As far as operational performance, I can discern no appreciable difference.

I have used 5 of these bags so far in my Miele, and have not had any of the mess that some reviewers complain of. They work fine for me.

I have a Miele Silver Moon & a Royal Blue that both require the FJM bags. I faithfully used the Miele FJM bags (bought in 5 box bulk sets) for almost a decade before Miele switched to their new bag design. The new design was terrible in both of my vacs and the bag would register full because the flap would jam so I would have to open the canister and manually push the debris into the bag. The bags were also smaller so I was going though them much faster than the old design. Adding insult to injury the new design came with less bags per box so I was getting less in volume AND quantity. I have used the first of the 3M bags and so far it has performed just like the old Miele design and I have not had any issues with the bag attachment mechanism. I may have an issue when it is time to remove the bag but like the old Miele design it holds so much debris that I haven't filled it yet and that alone warrants the 5 stars!

Bags DO NOT fit tightly which creates a mess inside what should be a perfectly clean miele vacuum canister. Very disappointed in Filtrete for putting out such poor quality.

These bags are made by 3M, not exactly a fly by night organization. I am not sure why other people had a problem with them, but they worked as expected for me. They hold dirt, dust, hair, and everything else that gets sucked up. They also do not loose suction as the bag fills up.

The whole bag setup is a little strange on the Miele, so that might have something to do with other people having trouble.....

I bought these bags because brand name Miele bags are very expensive. I used these bags and had no problems at all...The nozzle fit was fine and nothing got vacuumed into the canister..I had no mess at all. Great product.

These bags work just as well as any others I've tried, perhaps a bit better. Some of the non-Miele versions have a cardboard interface with the vacuum, but these have plastic which seems more durable.

These are cheaper than Miele's filters, but better quality than some of the el-cheapo off brands. They fit our vacuum perfectly, so I don't know where some of the other people's complaints are coming from. I like the fact that they include the filters, too.

I saw where some reviewers had problems with these 3M brand bags. Mine seem to be just fine. will be ordering more in the near future.

Bought these as a replacement for my Miele bags - figured Filtrete is a good brand and so these should be a good, cheaper alternative. WRONG. The plastic taps are too thin and too flexible to create a good seal - so it doesn't collect the particles in the bag and allows them to pass around it. My mistake - will stick with the real thing.
