Anyone who's been to the Philadelphia Flower Show will really enjoy this book. (It's fun even if you haven't been, too!) The original book has been nicely updated for the Kindle version.

Lively and fun,
This review is from: Final Arrangements (Ginger Barnes Main Line Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
The Philadelphia Flower Show is an event that draws thousands, and for good reason. It's bright, colorful, dramatic and fun, just like this book! Gin Barnes is a down-to-earth woman who's not afraid to get her hands dirty, both literally and figuratively, and when she gets drawn into a mystery, she draws you right in with her. If you like memorable local color, quirky characters and real suspense, this is the book for you.

A Ginger Barnes Main Line Mystery-Dead Letter Series,
By Georgie Cavitt "an avid book reader" (Evans City, PA United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Final Arrangements (Ginger Barnes Main Line Mysteries) (Mass Market Paperback)
When a Main Line horticulturist is strangled at the Philadelphia Flower Show, it's clear there's a bad seed in the cultivated crowd....Ginger Struve Barnes never expected to become a detective. The happily married mother of two, known for her red hair and do-it-yourself skills, knew she had a flair for solving problems-but solving crimes? All Gin has to do is escort her mother's old crony, Iffy Bigelow, to the celebrated Philadelphia Flower Show, where she will compete in the world's most prestigious floral competition. But Gin is wary. Iffy is notoriously troublesome and bound to be a handful. Sure enough, Iffy creates havoc when she turns up dead in the Easter Lilies! And when Gin discovers the woman was hiding a scandalous secret, she must race to dig up all the dirt-before the killer has Gin herself pushing up daisies.

Love Gin Barnes. Loved the background stuff about the flower show - who knew? And I didn't guess the ending. Hope there are more...

It was way too slow for me personally. Plus I never felt close to the main character - there were too many others. Julia kept coming in and out of the picture not playing the part I thought she would. She could/should have played a bigger role since she was there right after the murder. The book has possibilities, but it was not my style.
