Kitaro's musical opus with his newest release entitled "Final Call" is now stretching beyond 35-th year mark, fulfilled with creativity and diverse lyrical tapestry.
Now I will be honest that this album isn't the shiniest penny in Kitaro's discography, but also (for me) it's not one of his worst accomplishments.
The whole feeling of the album is rather mystifying and moody at times. Some of the songs (Yo-en, Valley of the Spirit, Wind from the Desert, Whispering Shore and the final 2-3 minutes of Solar Eclipse) are lyrical, melodic and up-beat at times, while others (the title track, Jupiter's Beam, Traveler and the first minute and a half of Solar Eclipse) are rather mysterious, foreboding and often gloomy.
The worst track of this album, and one of the weakest in Kitaro's musical history is Shadow of the Moon, and maybe Moment Circle, while there is a lot of melancholy and passionate beauty in "After Glow" - being my personal favorite track of this album.
Also, there are choir arrangements that pops up from time to time, although their presence is more powerful and prominent both in the title track and in the closing track.
In the end, let us not forget that the concept of this album is Kitaro's message that Final Call should be the story of an epic voyage of hope that all living creatures can someday live happily in harmony. Personally, I hope sincerely that one day this message will become reality.

Kitaro has been a mainstay in my New Age/ World Music catalog for a long time. From progressive rock (Dream) to One of the best live Albums (Enchanted Evening) to the spiritual, Kitaro rules. Final Call is about the enviromental death this earth is slowly dying to. I am not an enviro-nazi..,but the pollution of our environment is valid. Look at all the crap floating in the Pacific...Google it friends..it will shock you...this music brings that forward, and is the most varient of Kitaro's albums....Thank you for great music with a message....

Despite all of those "complaints" that they have, it IS a great cd, just like any other CDs by Kitaro...for die hard fans, this is a must have!
Somebody said the music is not calm....hmmm I beg to differ... Not only this cd is calming, it's actually dreamy and soothing, but yes, it has some numbers that are quite different, but if you understand anything about art at all, these are only some of so many ways where the artist can really express their emotions and tell their stories..
Some may say that they are Kitaro fans, but really, how many CDs that they have? I myself have 60 CDs so far, including Final Call...! And just so you know, those CDs that I have are not including re-recording albums, otherwise it would've been over 75 CDs....!
Well, overall, this IS still one of Kitaro's masterpiece! Hands down....if you don't like it, you simply are NOT a Kitaro's fan or simply do not understand nor appreciate the high level of art that Kitaro is presenting to his loyal and true fans...
