Accept's later years showed a different kind of monster. The twin guitar attack was gone, but guitar god Wolf Hoffmann managed to produce a richer, heavier, meaner more melodic sound. 3.0 out of 5 stars Buy Metal Heart or Restless & Wild
After Metal Heart Accept lost the plans. The post Metal Heart songs are really weak very like UDO's solo songs, really mediocre, this is what really lets this CD down. The sound is great except a second guitarist would have really enhanced it and Wolf's guitar sounds too thin. If you like all of Accept's stuff you will love this CD.

Accept's later years showed a different kind of monster. The twin guitar attack was gone, but guitar god Wolf Hoffmann managed to produce a richer, heavier, meaner more melodic sound. Although Accept's last three studio albums (Objection Overruled, Predator and Death Row) lacked commercial success, they are simply outstanding. They are not commercially oriented like Balls to the Wall and Metal Heart, something that definitely alienates some fans that still longing the mid-80s metal scene.

Playing at its best, this live album demonstrates how an incredibly good band Accept became with the years. Accept never sounded tighter and more powerful than during their last three unheralded albums. We need more music like this today. Thankfully, both Udo and Wolf are still producing great music in their own projects. Final Chapter has an excellent recording sound, and it is definitively a must buy for any real heavy rock fan.

Brilliant double live album, but exactly the same as All Areas Worldwide, just a different cover and artwork - don't get caught.

4.0 out of 5 stars Accept - 'The Final Chapter' (CMC International), January 28, 2005
This review is from: Final Chapter (Audio CD)
Great under appreciated long-running German heavy metal band.Have always totally dug Accept.Remember back in the day when most people used to refer to them as the group that sounds EXACTLY like AC/DC?What a nice way to not only remember the band but for them to gracefully call it a day.'The Final Chapter' is a should-have for all Accept fans.Tracks that brought back some cool memories for me of '80's metal are "London Leatherboys","Slaves To Metal","Restless And Wild","Son Of A Bitch","Metal Heart",their signature song "Balls To The Wall" and "Beast Inside".I saw Udo with his back-up band on tour with Saxon play a seedy club here awhile back and I recall Dirkschneider playing like half the cuts I just mentioned.Line-up:Udo-vocals,Wolf Hoffman-guitar,Peter Baltes-bass and Michael Cartellone-drums.I'd like to see these guys reunite sometimes and tour with the likes of Manowar,Krokus or maybe even Twisted Sister.Yeah,I know...keep dreaming. But then again, reunions are big these days.

4.0 out of 5 stars Album is a stellar. Accept at their best, July 16, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Final Chapter (Audio CD)
It is not often that a band can come back after as many management and personnel changes as Accept has confronted without loss of energy or sprit. The Final Chapter is a stunning example of Accept at their best, full of the feeling and emotion reminiscent to the early Breaker years.

Wolf Hoffman's guitar is more solid then ever, and continues to show refinement. Princess of the Dawn comes alive, Breakers continues to hypnotize. It is nice to see that Udo Dirkschneider's vocals are as raw as when he first hit the stage, especially considering that the same vocals became a matter of heated contention amongst band members during the production of Metal Heart and even more so on Russian Roulette. There is something magical about Accept, something about the way Udo's vocals contrast with Wolf's fantastic guitar work. Musically the sound is extreme, but these two rock. The album is first class and a welcome addition to any music collection.

Recording quality is outstandi! ! ng.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Live Release, July 28, 2004

this band as well as Saxon have never been appreciated in the US. i've been a fan of both for years. this release stomps from opening riff to end. wolf 'crystal fingers' hoffmann rips throughout. how this man never won any awards is baffling. you never see him mentioned in Guitar World magazine. truly a great overlooked musician.

i had this two disc set in my cd player for about a year. don't let critic reviews of this one fool you. this is one great live release and a must have for any metal fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Badly needs another guitarist, February 27, 2000
This review is from: Final Chapter (Audio CD)
Overall, this is a good live album. Unfortunately, as good as Wolf Hoffmann is, this album just doesn't sound right with only 1 guitarist since most of these songs were written for 2 guitarists. The best examples of this are "Breaker" & "Restless & Wild," which don't sound nearly as good as the versions from their older live album "Staying A Life." This wasn't a problem for their 90s studio albums because they overdubbed, but they couldn't replicate the sound live.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking for great live rock - this is it, stop here., January 4, 1999

The gang from across the pond has done a truely great live CD. Outstanding audio job on this, great tech work, clean, clean, clean. Udo still has a great set of pipes and lets everyone know it. Wolf and Peter sync and dominate, some very good guitar work here as they blow through intricate riffs together. The 2 Stefans pound the skin and their styles both fit.

Together they put out a truely outstanding power rock live CD. Add this to your Accept collection. To bad Amazon.com doesn't have their Death Row CD, you'd get a total definition of this one.
