Destroys everything in its path!, June 13, 2000
The brief review usually eludes me but what can you say about this album, other than the above. Put anything else in your collection up against this album, and it will shred it! If the monster from the "Alien" movies could write metal, it might just sound like this! The vocals took a little getting used too, but beyond that--look out! Speed, power; tight, crisp, razor sharp, playing and changes; good songwriting: this album's got it all, if you like the extreme stuff. Self-titled album is good; this one's better.

The Best Hypocrisy I Have Heard Yet, August 21, 2000
I was lucky enough to find this album in a local CD store, so I bought it and immediately fell in love. I had already heard the self-titled album and Fouth Dimension, and felt that something was lacking. I gave this album four stars simply because I heard Abducted is their best CD, but haven't heard it(it's on the way though), and Into the Abyss has not come out yet and I really dont know what to expect. Well, about the album. When you first put it in, the first track nails you to the wall. It is sheer aggression, pulse punding beats with powerful guitars. Track 4(sorry, Im not much with song titles) slows down a bit but never really lets you down, but you must wait until track 6, "Request Denied",(I know it, cuz its my fave)to fully understand and feel this albums power. This track is classic Hypocrisy, from beginning to end. Track 9 and 10 are also very good. Dont look forward to reading the lyrics to this album except the last song, the title track. But I guess that is what makes this album so magical.

death metal classic, July 25, 1999
By A Customer
In my Opinion Hypocrisy's best. In many ways this album is a combonation of death and black metal and takes the best of both worlds. Songs Dominion, Shameteur, or Evil Invaders capture hypocrisys heavy feeling. With lyrics you can generally understand. While other songs such as Inquire within or Adjusting the sun take some very melodic guitars but still heavy. Get this album if you are a death metal or black metal fan.
