Are you over 13? WHAT BS IS THIS I'M 50:This guide sucks!, December 9, 2010
This review is from: Final DOOM Game Secrets: Unauthorized (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
I started playing Final Doom somewhere in the 90's. Played Doom 2 and 1 in 1994.(Have played all Doom editions and more.)
The guides that I used for these aforementioned games were awesome since the maps were well illustrated, they told you step by step what to do, what to watch for, secrets everything. Suggestions on tough sections, truly esoteric helpful. I really can not explain how the writing, even prose was something. As if, "Go slow around this corner, use the chain-gun since you will encounter three Demons and two Chain-guys,(forgot their name)There is a secret to you left of..., pick up health and ammo to you right, though you will need to do such and such...et cetera &c." Allowing you to work hard, like spending 3 hours on a section, however you come through every level with everything dead and all secrets, not. Much to my chagrin I pitched all my guides since hey I did it, no need for these since I'm on to other games now, old as dirt too.
The thing is, every-couple of years I would have to "Doom" it's the most singularly classic PC game ever, for me.
"Did you doom?"
I had a great Final Doom guide that after I played it, again I pitched it. Since I just started Final Doom yet again, since I had another Final Doom guide that prompted me with title. (Since I saw this book in my area that has another thousand books. I read for a living though I do not get paid for.) I am using it with much emotional violence towards this guide book.
The Maps are, well a third-grader could draw these maps, yet better. The number it states to go to after that number, you can hardly read. It tells you little of what you will face, no secrets, no real help. Numbers to get through the level, yet leave everything of value on the table, as you exit. Secrets, monsters, ammo and the Doom-edge.( Of coarse, I go back and do the level till I know it backwards, have everything, no one is alive. I quite using the idiotic guide. YOU DO NOT NEED IT.)As you can see I am upset with this book.
I never cheat. Mention that you can find many self typed guides and better on the web, as you know.
As I got through Doom 3 with "Upsetchaps" Great-source back in 06.
You may like this guide, so please disregard my disdain for it. That goes double if you are not on a P.C.- PLATFORMFANBOY!

Since it's the only Final DOOM guide..., January 31, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Final DOOM Game Secrets: Unauthorized (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
I got Final DOOM about two years ago then spent one year looking for a guide for it. I found this, and bought it immediately. I was having trouble with Level 31 in TNT, and I hoped that maybe this guide would help. How the author made it through level 31 really confuses me, because it is unbeatable (it has no yellow key). Other than for that, the strategies really are not that helpful. But really, this guide really is not that bad. Since it is the only Final DOOM guide, and Final DOOM is hellishly hard, you should get the guide. The custom maps are great and are actually very helpful. You can look for where the keys are placed here. Except for some confusing things, I suggest you get this.

Great Book!, April 1, 2001
This review is from: Final DOOM Game Secrets: Unauthorized (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
This book was very helpful to me. I bought the Final Doom game a month ago and i've been looking all around for a book on it to help me. It has a clear description of the maps and has good detail on everything on where to go and find the keys to get into the locked doors. I beat this game in one night. And I will still play this game over and over as long as I have this book.
