4.0 out of 5 stars Nice
This album is made up of songs from Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI. The music from both these games is excellent. FFV's music is a little simpler, but still wonderful. If you liked the music in FF Anthology, you will like this.

3.0 out of 5 stars "Nobuo's personal selection of music" -- Yeah right.
According to the liner notes on this CD Nobuo hand selected the finest music from his soundtracks to include on this CD. I love Nobuo's music, don't get me wrong, but the "Celtic" mixes are rather hokey at best and there definately is not enough FFVI on there which is the only time that he would have had a medium strong enough to actually *really* compose music...

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome album, IDENTICAL to "Final Fantasy 1987-1994" CD, January 16, 2003
By
This review is from: Final Fantasy N Generation (Audio CD)
This is a great album. It's made up of some of the best themes from the games.
All are very nicely performed.
I especialled loved the 'Songo de Chocobo'.

Something you should be aware of, if you already own the Japanese import CD: "Final Fantasy 1987-1994" then there is no need to buy this CD.
The two CD's are 100% TOTALLY IDENTICAL. Even the CRC codes on the CD matches. So if you already own "Final Fantasy 1987-1994" then don't get this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great but NOT available!, January 27, 2006
This review is from: Final Fantasy N Generation (Audio CD)
I would like to second the reviewer who wrote in 2005 that this CD was not available. I bought this CD in a store some time ago, hence why I can attest that it is great. But due to some snookery on the part of a supplier, this CD never actually ships -- I suspect it's out of print and no one wants to tell us. Trust me, if you really want to order it (and it *is* a wonderful summary of the sounds of FF1-FF6), FIRST talk to the good folks at Amazon and make them PROMISE you that it's available. If they can't do that, then don't waste your time ordering it! Take my advice on this.

You might know that Square sells some other CD's acompaniyng there OST's. These Cd's can cost around 30 dollars and only have about 15 songs which are arranged(orchestra) or piano versions of some of em best songs. Whith this CD you get the best of the best from all the nintendo FF's, arranged and lowpriced which is really worth it. Also you might wana check out Final Fantasy:S Generation which is the same only whith the best from the playstation FF's. Booth very good and in my opinion, cheap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Symphonic CD, April 27, 2002

This CD is a great buy. The music on this is all arranged for symphony Orchestra or for piano. There are a few weird songs with words but they eventually grow on you. The Chocobo piece is a great jazz rendition. Overall a great CD for those who love classical music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Final Fantasy Album, January 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Final Fantasy N Generation (Audio CD)
Final Fantasy N Generation is one of the best musical compositions by Nobuo Uematsu. It features music from the classic games: Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV, V, and VI. It really brings back memories for me. The tracks are actually performed by live instruments and vocalists, so the music may sound even better than from the game(s). If you are any kind of Nobuo Uematsu fan I would definetly reccommend this album for your collection. Happy listening.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Beutiful scores from Final Fantasy, February 19, 2003
This review is from: Final Fantasy N Generation (Audio CD)
Just like Final Fantasy S: Generation, this cd is a compelation of remixes to music from the previouse games. In this case the music is from the games 1-6. While there are not as many memorable tracks from this one as in the case of S Generation (Where was FFV Gilgemesh THeme) there is enough here to satisfy Final Fantasy Nuts, like myself, or even fans of orchestra and opera.

the CD starts of the very memorible theme from Final Fantasy 1 (The first Bridge that the heroes cross and the credits start) which would evolve throughout the variouse games. It also features such memorible tracks as the opera scene from FFVI, teh CHocobo theme from FFV, as well as Rydia theme and the Moogle Theme.

OVerall this is more great music that should not be missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you call yourself a Final Fantasy fan, you MUST have this, November 25, 2002
This review is from: Final Fantasy N Generation (Audio CD)
This OST, along with it's sister CD, are a collection of Nobuo Uematsu's greatest achievements. Every single Final Fantasy game has benefitted from his spectaular musical talent, and most of the songs are so good, you want to hear them over and over (and if you play the games, sometimes you have no choice ;) ). But his crowning achievments are on these two CDs, and no self-respecting Final Fantasy fan can go without these epic soundtracks.
Spooky mood themes, heart-pounding battle themes, tear-jerking personal themes, and even a few happy tunes you find yourself humming in the shower can make or break a game's mood. Uematsu has always done it right (and not just in FF, look at the Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross OSTs too) in a market where criticsm can be strong. But you will not regret the purchase of this CD, nor that of any other OST from Squaresoft.

Buy it. Listen to it. Love it.

I was thrilled when I learned of a CD with tracks from my favorite games; and was pleased by the performances recorded. They bring back fond memories of the games. As a serious musician, I was impressed. I would recommend this album to any Final Fantasy fans out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, February 19, 2002
This review is from: Final Fantasy N Generation (Audio CD)
I just got my "N" Generation in the mail today, and I must say that it is great. I don't know if I have the same one as listed above, because my art is different, and mine has songs from 1-6, but it's still great. Every song shines out, especially "Final Fantasy", the one heard at the end of every game... nothing beats it! I also reccommend Potion: Relaxin' With Final Fantasy, it's awesome as well.
