3.0 out of 5 stars There's nothing new here, but if you missed out on the way.., June 18, 2001
This review is from: Final Fantasy: Potion - Relaxin' With Final Fantasy (Audio CD)
then you'll be sure to enjoy yourself. I ordered this CD fresh out of Japan when it came out, and I was very excited to see that new music had come out of Nobuo Uematsu -- until I got the CD. Instead of new music, what you will find is simply a CD anthology from tracks on other CDs. If you're like me and you've collected the other releases since they came out, or through eBay or similar sites, then save your money -- there's literally nothing new here at all. It was a great disappointment to me to hear all the same familiar arrangements as well -- I mean it when I say it's just a mix tape of his other CDs.

If you're new to collecting Final Fantasy music and you've haven't gotten a lot of Japanese releases, then I do recommend this CD. The selections are mostly all enjoyable -- his other CDs tend to have some "weird" songs on them that reflect his diversity as a composer (that's what they say) but they just annoy me. Regarding this CD, the winners are many, but I especially recommend picking it up for some of the music from Final Fantasy V that you'd miss out on -- Lenna's theme (dear friends version) is especially touching, the Theme of Love (celtic style) is enchanting, and of course, who can forget the very first track with Tina's song?

So, like I said, if you have most of the music -- don't bother. But if you're missing a lot in the series, pick it up for a treat.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Magic Of Nobuo, December 3, 2003
This review is from: Final Fantasy: Potion - Relaxin' With Final Fantasy (Audio CD)
This CD is a real great one to relax to. Stressed out? Let Nobuo's magic calm your nerves. But is this CD a must have? Well, if you got the Original Sountracks that have these songs, not really. But if you're new to Uematsu, go ahead and pick this CD up.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good intro to Nobuo's works, December 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Final Fantasy: Potion - Relaxin' With Final Fantasy (Audio CD)
This is a collection album of different songs from different album releases of FF soundtracks before FF9. The central theme of this album is relaxation music. I always like listen to the entire album with my eyes closed and I would feel very calm and serene, it makes me feel as if I was meditating unconsciously! Highly recommended even for non video game fans who doesn't know anything about Final Fantasy and can't relate to the origin of the music. My personal favorites are "Tina", "Mizu no Miko Eria" & "Theme of Love". To me, these songs already justifies a purchase for this wonderful album. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the songs are also very good.

Conclusion: This album is a good introduction for those people who doesn't know Uematsu Nobuo's works. And this is also a good representation of the best songs pre-FF9 and is a must buy especially for people who cannot afford to buy all the rest of the albums like me :).
