There are many people talking about this bundle, saying that it's not worth it because the console has no special design. That's not a big deal at all. You have to look at the overall value you get with this bundle. The console itself has the Jasper chipset built-in, the hard drive is the largest available (250GB) with a custom Final Fantasy XIII engraving, there are two controllers (always safe to have a back-up), and the game itself is fantastic. I do feel that it would have been nice if they could have replaced the second controller with either HD or HDMI cables, but the value you get with this bundle is still worth it.

I was previously on a 20GB Pro pack from when those were the best available and this bundle was the upgrade I needed. The hard drive difference is the best upgrade yet. I am now able to install Final Fantasy XIII (along with a large amount of other games) onto my hard drive so that my console will perform better and at cooler temperatures. I'm sure people would think this bundle would be sweet if the console was designed, but once again, it's no big deal. No matter what color or design you put on it, in the end it will still be an Xbox360. I also believe that Microsoft decided to not design the console because of problems relating to repairs. The repair process for a special designed Xbox360 takes longer than ones without a design. For example, if you have the special edition Modern Warfare 2 console, you will actually have to wait for you console to be fixed rather than get it quickly replaced.

If you have a high interest in Final Fantasy and need to upgrade (or getting an Xbox360 for the first time), go ahead and get this bundle you won't regret it. If you're on a 120GB Elite than you should either sell it and get this bundle (if you want it bad) or just stick with it. The bundle is great for people still on an Arcade or 20GB Pro console from years back.

I'm an owner of a launch 360 that I've repaired multiple times. The drive clicks, the fans are obnoxiously loud and it doesn't have HDMI. When I saw this package being advertised with a 250gb hadrdrive I jumped on it (since my ps3 just died as well). The 360 has the newest chipset and it's noticeably quieter than my previous model (pre-repair). I'm so used to my 360 running like a jet engine that I thought I was doing something wrong when I turned it on. Although the package did not come with a data transfer kit or an HDMI cable (lame) --changing the DRM licensing on xbox.com was easy enough. Add the game, 2 controllers and the pre-order faceplate and this was a worthy investment.

This package is well worth the extra $100 compared to the Elite version. FFXIII ($59.99), and an extra controller ($39.99) are included, and double the HDD space (250GB $49.99 value)! The double HDD space is basically a free bonus. As far as FFXIII the game, the graphics are amazingly stunning, the cutscenes look better than any movie, but the gameplay is a little awkward at first but easy to figure out. Overall this purchase is far from regretable for any Final Fantasy fan or someone looking to purchase an Xbox 360.

I've had this Final Fantasy XIII bundle for over two months now, and I can safely say that I'm happy with my purchase. I do have a little bit of buyer remorse due to the Xbox 360 Slim being released right after this, but that's a different story.

I'm not going to review the game as I feel that has nothing to do with the Xbox 360 and its performance.

I bought this edition to replace my old Resident Evil 5 Elite Edition that I bought early last year. I simply needed more hard drive space, and this edition, with its 250 GB hard drive, was the best I could do. I have played games and Netflix through this machine on a daily basis for the past two months, and I have experienced no problems whatsoever. It does seem a little quieter than the Resident Evil 5 edition that I had, and the power brick is definitely smaller than the RE5 edition. The fact that there is still a power brick at all is a bit of a head scratcher, but what can you do. All of my games I've played on this thing have performed perfectly, loaded quickly, and have given me no headaches. However, it is essential that you install your games before you play them as it will sound like a Cessna plane is ready to take off inside your Xbox. After nearly five years of so-called "improvements" to the 360 it's still amazing that these are so friggin' loud! However, once you install the game the 360 is very quiet. This Final Fantasy XIII edition doesn't run as hot as my old RE5 edition, either. The RE5 Elite edition felt like it was on fire, even AFTER installing a game, but this edition is nice and cool, never seeming to go above a reasonable temperature. I have also learned to appreciate Xbox Live and its services. I never used to like being charged for Live, but it really is a premier service, and compared to the Playstation Network, which is free, it's fantastic. You can watch news, download exclusive games, and the Xbox interface is fun to navigate, unlike the PSN.

All in all, this FF XIII Elite Edition is probably the best you can do if you want to buy the Xbox 360 in its original form.

My gripes about this machine are still the same as always: no integrated wi-fi, you can't use a third party hard drive as memory, no USB hookup/charger for the controllers. I can't help but be a little miffed about the new Xbox 360 Slim model coming out so soon after this edition was released. Microsoft is now touting integrated wi-fi and third party hard drive upgrades with the new Slim, and they are congratulating themselves about things that should have always been included with the 360 anyway. Microsoft simply rested on their laurels for the past five years, and they have only changed their tune because now the PS3 is catching up to them in sales, and they realize that integrated wi-fi and third party hard drive swaps are pretty much essential if they want to stay in the console race. A business decision? Sure. But it irks me that Microsoft could have made these improvements all along if they wanted to, instead choosing to nickel and dime consumers with sub-par products like wi-fi adapters, controller chargers, cooling fans, and insanely overpriced Xbox hard drives. It's business decisions like this that will always make me buy PS3 over the 360 version when a game comes out for both consoles. Another thing that got under my skin is the fact the box tells you that 250 gigs of memory comes with the machine, but in reality, you'll only be able to use around 230 gigs. The Xbox 360 uses over 20 gigs of space right out of the box with all the things necessary to have the "full Xbox experience" including Xbox Live, interfaces, and game trials, among other things. You can always go and delete some of the unwanted things, like game trials, but most of the stuff that takes up the memory will need to stay. Why can't companies put a 270 GB hard drive in there if they know all of the necessary software will take up 20 gigs of space? Xbox isn't the only company who does this; my 160 GB PS3 had 149 gigs available right out of the box. I feel it's a misrepresentation of a product, and companies should AT LEAST mention this hard drive size discrepancy on the outside of the box. You'd be able to fit three large games on a 20 GB hard drive (to give you an idea, Mass Effect takes up nearly 7 gigs), so that space counts!

These past few days have been showing Microsoft at E3 claiming the Xbox 360 Slim as "the Xbox we've all been asking for". Sooo, that means any 360 that isn't a Slim is not what we've been asking for? This kind of advertising really bugs me. It's almost as if Microsoft is flat out saying "yeah, our old model sucks, but NOW it's awesome!" F You, Microsoft.

However, games like Mass Effect, and Gears Of War can only be played on the 360 which makes it a must purchase. That's the price of being a gamer, I guess: you're willing to get ripped off a little bit in order to satiate your hobby.

I got that console with the game for my girl as she is a Final fantasy freak, she loves the game and i love the extra controller :D... the value of the bundle is very good for the content it's like you save 100$ at least as the 250GB HDD for this model is expensive and the extra controller is a very good addition.

Only bad thing MS did was taking out HDMI cables out of the loop and not adding them anymore to the bundles.. it's ok as i can buy a [...] HDMI cable and it will be awesome. so anyway i like this console and i like the extra stuff.

If you want a new console and you like the game.. buy this bundle

I had an XBox 360 Arcade with a 60GB hard drive and I bought the Final Fantasy XIII Limited Edition XBox 360 Elite bundle with the 250GB hard drive so I could have more storage space and a faster XBox. (and so I could have an excuse to give my friend my old XBox 360 Arcade so he could have one too. I saw him playing games on my XBox 360 and could tell he LOVED it compared to his PS2)

This is an AWESOME deal!!!

Other XBox 360 bundles usually come with games like "Banjo Kazooey" and "Viva Pinada" Kinda lame...

It's been five years since I've purchased a video game console (PS2??) and I can say that with this purchase, I happily make my way back into the world of video gaming. The bundle is amazing! Comes with an unbelievable game, 2 controllers, headset, and 250 GB of harddrive. I was debating on this or the PS3, but can happily say that I feel I've made the right choice. If you have the opportunity to go for this package, I highly recommend it! IT's a great value for your dollar and the game it comes with will keep you playing well over the reviewd 80 hours. Once again, great!

I puarchased this game bundle for my son, who completely LOVES it. The only problem we encountered was the second disc of the game would not play, but when I contacted amazon, they made the return/exchange extremely easy and timely, and within a few days he was able to continue his game playing. I have made a number of purchases thru amazon.com and will continue to do so in the future.

I couldn't pass up the great value offered with this bundle (essentially, the bundle pack was $100 cheaper than any of the retailers in my area!) The included items and the game made this a wonderful bargain. I was tempted to wait for the updated Xbox 360 console; but this was too good to pass up.

There were some "shipping issues" associated with the item. My mailman decided to leave the package OUTSIDE on a blazing hot day; where it sat in direct sunlight (we were out of town at the time of delivery.) Plus, when I opened the box, there was a goopy soap-like substance coating the outside of the Xbox container. I was tempted to take pictures and return the item right away, but the soap had not penetrated the box, so I took a chance. I'm guessing the "soap" came from some random warehouse...

I've been enjoying my new system very much!

This bundle is terrific, especially if you get it with the faceplate. You get two controllers, the headset, the game and special avatar items. The Chocobo Avatar item is super cute, so if you are into Avatars and want an item few people have that might seal your purchase right there. The other item is a FF costume for either boy or girls. This is the new "Jasper" chipset which runs MUCH quieter than my 2007 Elite and less hot. The drive is quieter as well. So if you are looking for an upgrade to your old 360 or want one for a different room this is the way to go.

As for the game packaged together with it I am including my review I posted for both games:

I purchased the 360 package with this game and also the ps3 version, as I wanted to play both for the trophies/achievements. Do not listen to what people are saying...the game actually runs faster on 360 and unless you are standing right next to the screen you CANNOT tell the difference in graphics. Loading times are actually faster on 360. Yes it is completely different from any FF before it, but that is a good thing. Do you really want to play the same game every 3 years, or experience something completely different? Play the game for yourself before you listen to people who do not like the 360.

The story is amazing and the graphics are unparalleled on both systems. Buy the game based on your preference for the system (which controller you like, if you want faster load times or crisper in-game graphics on the 360). I plan to play both and have no problem with any of them check my purchases you can see I own the ps3 version (i preordered the xbox bundle at EB) so i am not being biased to either one.:P
