5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Beautiful
As I've been reading the reviews here, I've been noticing that they all talk only about the main song on the single, "Eyes on Me." It is certainly a beautiful, sweet, and touching song, and was the reason that I first bought the single, but I can't help but wonder why no one has commented on the other song included on the single. Though there is no translation...

As I've been reading the reviews here, I've been noticing that they all talk only about the main song on the single, "Eyes on Me." It is certainly a beautiful, sweet, and touching song, and was the reason that I first bought the single, but I can't help but wonder why no one has commented on the other song included on the single. Though there is no translation of its lyrics included and I'm not even familiar enough with the language to be able to tell if Faye Wong is singing it in Chinese or Japanese, in her pure, lovely voice it is easily as beautiful as "Eyes On Me." This second song is the primary reason that I'd like to acquire some of Faye Wong's albums. I'd hate to think that most of the reviewers are discounting it because it's in a language that they don't understand or because it wasn't part of Final Fantasy VIII.

5.0 out of 5 stars I cried!, April 28, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Final Fantasy VIII: Eyes on Me (CD3) (Audio CD)
In Final Fantasy 8 I cried a lot! But hearing this wonderful melody I cried even harder. I am in choir and orchestra and I sing and play this song a lot! I love it because it also sounds good on my Viola! (haha violins) Anywho, BUY IT!

4.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely wonderful., April 26, 2001

First off, the only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because you can get the same song on the orchestral version or the full Final Fantasy VIII soundtrack (...). Of course, on both of those, you don't get the instrumental version, which I don't care for too much in the first place, because....

... Faye Wong's voice is incredible. I've heard her sing in Chinese, talk in Japanese and now sing in English, and I must say- i'm very impressed. Eyes on Me is absolutely "accentless" and is a great addition to the game itself.

Credits to Nobuo Uematsu for writing such a great piece of music.

So, anyway- you'll get more for your money if you buy the Orchestrated Soundtrack to Final Fantasy VIII or the entire Final Fantasy VIII soundtrack.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of Faye Wong, March 21, 2000
This review is from: Final Fantasy VIII: Eyes on Me (CD3) (Audio CD)
The first time I heard it, I was surprise how well she sang in English. I kept thinking that it couldn't be Faye Wong, I was happy I was wrong.

The music fits perfectly well with the game Final Fantasy VIII that I'm happy Squaresoft decides to have a main theme tune. The song is sang with Faye perfection as always and it is worth getting, even if it's just to hear Faye sing in English again. Though in honest opinion, Faye's chinese songs are much better, expressive and creative.

My only downside is that Faye will never release an English album. I hope she changes her mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fabulous, March 17, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Final Fantasy VIII: Eyes on Me (CD3) (Audio CD)
This song is absolutely wonderful. It fit well with the theme from the video game story (Final Fantasy 8) yet it fit perfectly outside of the game. I had never even heard of Faye Wong before I heard this song on the video game. But now I am seriously considering buying some other Faye Wong CDs. Her voice is absolutely captivating and you will never want to stop listening. This is definately worth your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, January 25, 2000

This is her best English recording yet! Faye is undoubtedly one of the most talented artists in Asia! Her songs have saved the unashamefully mainstream-dominated canto pop, no doubt about that! Her 2 latest albums - Only Love Strangers and Wanderlust (Chang You) are truly brilliant! I am fascinated by the versatility of her voice as well as her singing techniques! Eyes On Me is truly a fab single, performed with sheer emotions and feelings! Check it out and you will know why! GO ON! IT'S AN INVESTMENT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Breath-taking, December 7, 1999
This review is from: Final Fantasy VIII: Eyes on Me (CD3) (Audio CD)
This album is magnificent! The song "Eyes On Me" has to be the most beautiful song I've ever heard, it also goes along perfect with Final Fantasy 8, not only the words but the music and her voice make you feel for the characters. Without this song Final Fantasy 8 wouldnt be as good, thats how deeply this song can touch you.Not only this song but the whole track is filled with her beautiful voice and lyrics. I recommend this CD to everyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Maybe Yes, Maybe No....., January 10, 2000

Those are the words that make the biggest impact in this great and emotional song. The reason I want this CD is that the song is played twice on Final Fantasy Eight and I love it so much! I don't know if it was written for the game or not, but it was a perfect addition to a great musical score. The song summerizes the love of Squall and Rinoa and the uncertainty of thiers or any relationship. The immense emotional feeling that this song gives me is amazing. I think this song is also on the FF VIII soudtrack. I think that would be a good buy too.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best song I've ever heard!, January 1, 2000
This review is from: Final Fantasy VIII: Eyes on Me (CD3) (Audio CD)
Well...The truth is that I haven't actually got the cd YET, but I'm about to. However I have completed Final Fantasy 8, and I must say that the song "Eyes on Me" is so great that no matter what other songs there may be on the cd I'll give still give it my highest recommends. I'd never heard of Faye Wong before FF8, but now I'm a big fan of her. She has a very soft and beautiful voice. I used my MD-recorder so that I can listen to the song whenever I want to. My reason for getting this cd is that I'm not quite sure about the text of the song.....oh, and why not support the good people who came up with this song!
