Amazing piano collections!,
By Andrew (Cleveland, MS United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Final Fantasy X: Piano Collections (Audio CD)
These piano arrangements are beyond extraordinary in quality and beauty. Masashi Hamauzu does a great job of making these arrangements shimmer in the first truly pianistic Final Fantasy Piano Collection. It is in this collection that there exists a piece called "Bisaido shima", or "Besaid Island", which is so beautiful that words cannot describe it. It brings an insouciance to the listener with its flowing perfection. The piece is basically the original with greater speed, and it is pulled off magnificently. The rest of the album follows suit in excellence. This CD is a great addition to any library of music.

A Wonderful Collection,
By Raine (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Final Fantasy X: Piano Collections (Audio CD)
This collection does nothing but improve these clasic Final Fantasy X songs. It takes such songs as 'Tidus's Theme' and 'Attack' and gives them a new feel and sound. Both become more gentle due to the the wonderful piano. 'Besaid Island' sounds very different at first and is probably the most transformed. Songs such as 'To Zanarkand' and 'The Path of Atonement' song a lot like there origins (because they were originally piano tracks), however there is enough of a difference, to make them feel like an all new track.

Beautiful piano music from a beautiful game,
This review is from: Final Fantasy X: Piano Collections (Audio CD)
Final Fantasy X is one of my favorite games of all time. The music is some of the best in the series and the piano renditions of those songs are lovely. Zanarkand is included here as well as other favorites like Besaid Island, Via Purifico, Rikku's Theme, etc. There are no other instruments but the piano playing on this collection so do not expect an orchestra. Sometimes even simple things play volumes.

GREAT CD but shop around first!,
This review is from: Final Fantasy X: Piano Collections (Audio CD)
I was about to buy this soundtrack off of amazon when I did a quick check on Ebay and it was selling there for "Like New" quality for $12.99. It is a GREAT CD but why pay $50+ when you can pay $13? :D Come on Amazon Marketplace sellers, be a little competitively priced!

A very love and enjoyable soundtrack,
This review is from: Final Fantasy X: Piano Collections (Audio CD)
I have come across final fantasy piano soundtracks just a few years ago and I enjoy them very much. As a piano player, I only used to practice classical music but since I have bought these I have expanded my repertoire. They are very lovely to hear and enjoyable to practice. Each time I play them I develop more and more attachments towards the characters and appreciate the people who made them possible.

Amazing and Beautiful,

Nobuo Uetmatsu has impressed me once more with this album. Aki Kuroda plays the pieces beautifully, and Masashi Hamauzu has done a fine job of arranging the album. Each track on the album is worth at least one listen, if not more. It's safe to say that most of the tracks are masterpieces. Go buy a used/new copy; you need to get this amazing album.
Here's my own interpretation of the song titles: 1. To Zanarkand 2. Tidus's Theme 3. Besaid Island 4. Hymn of the Fayth/(lit.) Song of Prayer 5. The Travel Agency 6. Rikku's Theme 7. Guadosalam 8. Assault 9. Via Purifico/The Way of Purgation 10. Isn't It Wonderful? 11. Yuna's Decision 12. The People of the North Pole 13. Final Battle 14. Ending Theme Hope this helped! And I hope you enjoy the album!

Good,

Most of the songs on the CD are beautifully played. However, many of the songs have excessive notes in them. It makes the songs too "frilly". For the most part, however, the songs are excellent.
