A 20th-century of intense evil ushers in man's final hour!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Final Hour (Paperback)
A tattered curtain of destruction has fallen upon mankind--as a signal flag raised to a battered 20th-century--blanketing these last days of the millenium with uncertainty, and ushering in the 11th-hour. In THE FINAL HOUR, Michael Brown casts a sobering eye on the utter devastation that an epoch's worth of evil--human, demonic, and otherwise--can wreak when crammed into a single, 100 years: From Karl Marx's "gospel of hate" to the chilling death camps of Hitler's "Final Solution," Michael Brown tears away the last shreds of doubt shrouding the fact that there never can be any "neutral ground" in the intensifying spritual warfare--between Heaven and Hell--for the eternal souls of men. On every inch, the battle wages! From the the book's explosive beginning to its startling end, the Devil's dark plot to destroy the better of mankind thickens, quickening the competition for men's souls--while hastening the return of Jesus and the Antichrist--to the last showdown of good against evil at Armageddon. Ultimately, THE FINAL HOUR is a message of faith, hope, and trust in the resplendent, supernatural light of Christ's love, the intercession His blessed Mother, and aid of the Good Angels to deliver us from the Devil's raging onslaughts and to help guide us in our plight through the dark, dry deserts of these last times.

The Final Hour,
By James (S. Burlington, Vermont) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Final Hour (Paperback)
It is hard to recommend this book too highly. If you are looking for a spiritual book that says all is ok with the world and leaves you with a glow, this is not your book. If you want to find meaning in the apparitions of the Virgin Mary since Rue de Bac in Paris in 1830 through 1990, be prepared to be challenged in your world view if you have never read about her apparitions before. The underlying tone of the book is spiritual warfare and the joy of those who have followed the Virgin Mary back to God through Jesus. Satan and his minions do exist and want to ruin our lives especially that beyond death. The Virgin Mary comes in fascinating visits as detailed by Michael Brown to guide us away from evil to God and the kind of life God intends for us. Mr. Brown, a former journalist for the NY Times, who returned to Catholic belief after some profound spiritual experiences, as detailed in Prayer of the Warrior, writes at times in a breathless fashion, invariably riveting. He offers evidence of an increasing Satanic attack on humanity since 1830 which is countered by God through Jesus, angels and the Virgin Mary, building to some kind of crescendo still in our future. Though it is amply clear that Mr. Brown is in a hurry, he writes with the restraint of a conservative Catholic. He sticks with the approved apparitions and those apparitions that are still being investigated that have some promise of being approved in the future. Mr Brown's evidence of the influence of evil on certain individuals such as Karl Marx and Lenin begs for more investigation. However, especially if you have read the New Testament, the evidence as presented in this book and others written by Mr. Brown, which I also recommend, help to remove the blinders secular society has placed on us and realize that Heaven is pleading with us to return to God.

Consider what the future holds,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Final Hour (Paperback)
One of those rare books that makes the reader contemplate and really consider what the future holds. Guides the reader to consider how the actions and reactions of our time truly do shape the future, and how messages from the Blessed Mother give us both meaning for the present and warning for the future.
I believe the book is not meant to frighten, but to encourage us to be proactive members of our communities and to live by our personal convictions.

A haunting revelation. It was hard to put this one down!,

This review is from: The Final Hour (Paperback)
The Final Hour is a fascinating documentary on Marian visions as well as modern-day encounters with Christ. Visionaries chronicle their experiences, and tell what awaits us in the final hour. There are some prophesies that had not occurred at the time the book was published, that have come true.

True or False, you must decide,
This review is from: The Final Hour (Paperback)
The Final Hour is written to engage the reader and hold them begging for more, however his research leaves a little to be desired. I live in Germany and have been to Fatima, La Sallet, Rue De Bach... He needs to double check what the visionaries actually said at these places. For instance on page 22 "'At a certain moment during the apparitions Bernadette suddenly heard loud shouts, like the clamor of a bawling crowd.' coming from the area near the river, with one especially furious voice roaring at Bernadette: Get Out! Get Out! It was an attack by demonic Spirits who tried to scare her from the grotto. the virgin mary merely glanced in their direction and with a simple and yet sovereign look reduced the invisible mob to silence!" These were not Bernadette's words. If you read Bernadette Speaks by Rene Laurentin it actually quotes her laughing when she hears this account of her visions. This was written by a priest trying to make a point. If you read what Bernadette actually said she experienced in her 18 visions, she never mentions demons in her accounts. Yes evil does exist, and Mary will conquer evil in the end, but Brown needs to get his facts strraight and present the proper picture.

THe Final Hour,
This review is from: The Final Hour (Paperback)
This is a "must read" book for EVERYONE! Indeed it spells out where we are headed as a nation, the cause of this upheavel, and that prayer and a spiritual renewal is sorely needed to reverse the direction we are headed.

Warning - Highly opinionated.,
By
This review is from: The Final Hour (Paperback)
I read this book completely. I would say that it is poorly structured jumping from one apparition to another within each chapter and sometimes within the same paragraph.
This Author tries to highlight his own opinion and weird ideas at multiple places in the book - unfortunately this risks weakening the important subject matter of the apparitions themselves. He is not very scientific in his analysis. The book is a handy collection of Marian apparitions which is its best point. However he has some poor predujices against pop music eg: Madonna (who cares really what she does - no one is going to change their life to follow Madonna!) and most hilariously of all - Dungeons and Dragons! Please! Young people will be turned off by his predjudices. jfd

Very disturbing book - I do not recommend it for Catholics,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Final Hour (Paperback)
I started reading this book and was very disturbed as a Catholic to hear his message (of mostly doom and gloom). I think this books distorts some views of Catholic teaching - and it does not have any Diososees(spelling?)/catholic approval. After talking with my spiritual advisor, I decided this was not a good reading decision to further my relationship with Christ. Instead I highly recommend a book my spiritual director recommended - Meetings with Mary, by Janice Connell.
