5.0 out of 5 stars It was the bomb!, December 3, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Final Kingdom (Seven Sleepers Series #10) (Paperback)
This was my favorite book ever. I read all ten "Seven Sleeper" books, but this was the best. I couldn't put it down so I stayed up late at night and finished this book. This book tests the Sleepers' faith to Goel and I like that. There are some sad parts in this book, but I like the ending alot. It was a spiritual book like all the other "Seven Sleepers" books. If you like to read, read this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely terrible!, February 12, 2012
By
Mangraa (Los Angeles, California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Final Kingdom (Kindle Edition)
Ahhhhh, the final book in the pestilent Seven Sleepers series, and Morris doesn't disappoint those who have read any of the other books. It has the same level of glaring inconsistencies, the mediocre prose, and what felt like a double helping of illogic. There is no reason for this book's "plot" to exist besides making the story longer than 20 pages.

It sets a terrible example for young readers who may want to start writing fiction, s it implies that details and basic common sense yield to having stuff happen. Yes, this is as children's book, but that is no excuse for making the characters about as intelligent as a dirty towel. The antagonist(s) aren't menacing, they're incompetent; the protagonists do nothing but exist for the sake of being saved by someone else, yet they are seen as being clever, wise, smart, etc.

There are any number of spiritually-oriented children's books which don't treat the reader as a mindless zombie who ignores plot holes, characters with zero common sense, and an "epic battle" which is so mind-bogglingly ridiculous it's laughable.

Only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because at least the sentences were constructed correctly, in spite of their content being drivel.
