Points to Christ and Christ alone,
This review is from: The Final Quest (Hardcover)
I experienced the worst time in my life this past year. I was seeking healing from the most hurtful experience ever. I grew up in a wonderful strong biblical church that believes the "sign gifts" are no longer active today. However, as I've read scriture myself and asked the Holy Spirit to teach me (I John 2:27) beyond my presuppositions as He promises to do (John 16:13-14), the HS has been helping me understand that He is so much greater than my finite mind can imagine. It was during a 3-week sabbatical that I picked up this book. WOW! Did I ever enter the presence of God in a way I have never known. I have been a christian for 30+ years and been told by others that I know scripture extremely well (due to my incredible biblical heritage during my upbringing). But scripture has never come alive to me as it did after reading this book. The greatest healing in my life emotionally, spiritually and psychologically was through the Bible and how God used this prophetic book in my life. The theme throughout this book and Joyner's others is to draw people to know God, know His heart above all else. Due to the incredible conviction from the Holy Spirit, it took me days to read and re-read many parts, crying and repenting through issues, and deep excruciating self-examination and "God-examination" (Ps 139:23-24). The greatest revelation from God Himself showed me my deep-rooted pride and self-righteousness manifested in judgmentalism and a critical spirit. I have learned again, "Who am I to judge another." All through the books of James, I/II Peter, I Cor., Matt. 7:1-5, scripture commands us not to judge one another. It is part of the root of our fallen human nature: PRIDE. Oh how HE needs to increase and I must decrease. I recommend this book above any others I have read and due to the incredible drawing of my heart to know God's heart, the enemy would NEVER do this. It has proven it must be from God -- test the spirits as I John 4:1-4 talks about -- if he confesses Jesus as coming in the flesh, dying and rising again, which Joyner undoubtedly does, he is from God and NOT a false prophet. False prophets lead away from the one and only true God (Father, Son and HS) to anything else: self, the church, pride in knowing the bible or anything that takes the place of knowing HIM. I must fall on my face before HIM and thank HIM for how HE has healed my broken heart and restored me to a deeper relationship with HIM than I could have ever imagined. I ask for the Righteous Judge to judge my heart here and now, to know Him and hear His voice without Pride or self-righteousness. "THE CALL" is another must read.

Truth Coming Alive,
By
This review is from: The Final Quest (Paperback)
My wife and I serve as foreign missionaries in capacities of discipleship and are often reading Christian books for both ourselves and for those we're trying to minister to. I usually have a stack of books waiting for me to read everytime I finish one more. The Final Quest is one of only a very few books I've read for a second time. I even read it for a third time and plan to read it for a fourth. This book is a description of a personal prophetic experience. Those who would say Joyner is placing emphasis on himself in much of the book are right. Theat's BECAUSE it's a prophetic experience in which God was brining correction into his life. It's to his credit that he opens up and becomes transparent to us as he lets us see sins and faults from his past. Also, it's not meant as a book to establish doctrine. Joyner makes that clear in the intro. He's just trying to acurately report what he experienced. Joyner can't take the credit weather you like or hate the book. He's just stating what he saw and experienced. This book isn't about Joyner being a goo writter, creative or even a good teacher. It's in testimony format. One reporting what he sicerley believes God to have shown him The reason I gave it a high mark, is because it's one of those books that helps you to see things from a diffrent persepective. It gives you a bit of a PARADIGM SHIFT. It helped me to see both the importance of love and humility I give five stars because it ministered to me and it helped me understand many verses that i thought i understood in a fresh and challenging light. I can truely say I'm more challenged and inspired to be a follower of Christ now in both loving devotion and humility. Give the book a read. remeber what it is and what it is not meant to be.

A truly inspiring and enjoyable read,
By MJF (Washington, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Final Quest (Paperback)
The Final Quest was given to me as a gift, and I picked it up today intending to casually skim through a few passages. A couple of hours later, I turned the very last page with a strengthened resolve to love the Lord my God with all my heart. What more can you ask for?
Joyner's sincere heart and true desire to portray to the best of his human ability the truths God has illuminated in his own spirit shine through this book. It is a journey toward knowing God more intimately, beginning to see His limitless love and holiness, and allowing Him to work in your life. I'm aware that this page has received its fair share of critical reviews, and I don't want to discredit their authors. But, let me say with all due respect and without trying to sound indignant, that I truly think you are missing the point. Never does Joyner claim that this book is in any way Scripture, and in fact states very plainly and emphatically that it is subject to interpretation and human error; I believe it to have been written with integrity and honesty. All I really know at the end of the day is that God has used this book to minister to me and bring me a few steps closer in my relationship with Him. Hopefully, it will do the same for you. Many blessings!
