A Decent Human Hunting Movie,

This is about an ex-kickboxer who is drugged and trapped with two others trying to survive in a maze while being tracked by killers on a remote TV for the rich. A cross of Running Man and Hard Target and works really well.

Lamas and Kinmont we're both in "Renegade" tv series. This is a pretty good action movie, with some eye candy as well.

Final Round is a lot like Hard Target and Running Man. On televised network is an arena (an old abandoned warehouse) where a group of hunters track down and kill innocents that are caught and brought to the arena. Viewers can watch the show on their home television and call in to bet accordingly. Tyler Viddicio (Lorenzo Lamas) and his girlfriend Jordan (Kathleen Kinmont) are captured along with an ex-profesional ball player and thrown into the arena. The hunting actually takes up most of the film, and lasts about one hour.
The suspense of the hunt makes Final Round enjoyable, to an extent. When confrontation finally occurs, they are usually very short and unexciting fights. Ian Jacklin plays one of the lead hunters, and you'd think he would have a final kickboxing showdown versus Lorenzo Lamas, but he doesn't even get the chance too. Instead, Lamas actually has a fight against Anthony De Longis, who plays the man behind the desk and in charge of the hunts - Jon Delgado. Of the several Lorenzo Lamas films, I liked this one a little more than the rest. His acting is a little more alive in this film, and the rest of the cast is convincing at times. Obviously Hard Target and Running Man are the more enjoyable films, but this isn't too bad for a B-movie production. |
