5.0 out of 5 stars Holy Smokes
This book is great. It has a lot of twists and turns. It keeps you reading right to the end. There was a couple of times where I felt bad for bad guy and thought that he was going to prove victorious over the good guy. It really is suspense filled. Read it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Worth to pass an idle time by
It's the usual bomb scare story, but this time, the people who uncovered the terrorist/bomber are people who were both ex's - ex-FBI and ex-bomb expert. How they got through, or rather behind the authorities in solving the case takes a big part of the story. I like the factoring in of the ex-bomb expert's wife - it makes him seem more real, more human. I'll definitely...

5.0 out of 5 stars Oneof the best books I've ever read!, June 16, 2000
This review is from: Final Seconds (Mass Market Paperback)
John Lutz and David August did an unbelievable job at writing Final Seconds. I was blown away by the suspense and mystery of this novel. They should make more books together. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read. (Final Seconds would make a great movie!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great... til the end, October 20, 2009
I enjoyed the book very much, right up until the end. I felt that it was wrapped up too quickly, and too half-hearted for all the care that was given to the rest of the novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars I hate when a book is too good to put down, September 11, 2011
I hate when a book is so good, I can't put it down. I had several projects I was supposed to work on today, but I started reading Final Seconds and now, here I am, 8:12 PM on Sunday evening, just finishing the book.

Will Harper, an ex-NYPD guy, is a great character - he joins forces with Harold Addleman, who was kicked out of the FBI after becoming an alcoholic. Together, they make a fantastic team.

No one believes Will and Harold when they try to convince the FBI that a serial bomber is working on an elaborate scheme to kill famous people. As they race against time and bureaucracy to stop the bombings, your heart will keep speeding up with the urge to have them move faster.

Great book! I'm so glad I found Lutz! He has several more thrillers, so it's like finding treasure to discover a new author! I'll be taking another one home with me from the bookstore tomorrow evening!

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the price, May 12, 2011

I have been reading a lot of Post Apocalyptic stories which all seem to be degenerating to Zombie stories so this one was a pleasant change. I found the central character (are they still called protagonists?) Will Harper to be genuine and believable.

The author switched back and forth between the mind and the motivations of the cop and the bomber well so the story was always refreshing. Was along the lines of a Scortia and Robinson novel. I will definitely consider some of his other books!
