5.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed the book, but the end was incredibly sad.
The entire book I was tense and on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next, I was surprised around every corner on Korriban. Jude Watson must have researched alot for this one, because it went well with what I saw in Knights of the Old Republic, and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. 5.0 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed the book, but the end was incredibly sad., December 30, 2004
This review is from: The Final Showdown (Star Wars Jedi Quest #10) (Mass Market Paperback)
The entire book I was tense and on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next, I was surprised around every corner on Korriban. Jude Watson must have researched alot for this one, because it went well with what I saw in Knights of the Old Republic, and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. The tu'kata beats, sounded exactly like those in Kotor. The book starts out with Anakin working on Tru's lightsaber, and then they start talking about how much they hope they are on the team together to find Granta Omega. Darra walks in and says that their masters and Ferus are in with the Council, when they are called to join them. It turns out Ferus was chosen to be the first to test out a "Knight acceleration" program. Anakin is furious, of course, because he thinks he is better than Ferus. They are than told they are to capture Omega and Jenna Zan Arbor on the Sith world of Korriban. He becomes angry at Obi-Wan when they start talking and Anakin finds out that, in Anakin's words, Obi-Wan "voted" for Ferus. Once on Korriban, Anakin starts taunting Ferus and they turn the mission into a contest of which one of them acan capture Omega first.

Since it is a showdown, it has to leave to death. But unfortunately, towards the end one of the Padawans dies. In my opinion, this was probably the book with the sadest death, that Jude Watson has writen. The deaths of Tahl and Yaddle, were very sad also, but this one sorta tops those, partially because Anakin keeps repeating things that they said in past books. It was also one of the sadest because they were one of my favorite characters in the entire Star Wars saga. The thing that was really bothersome, was the fact that Anakin but a petty contest, before friendship, and lost everything and yet after a pang of guilt and sadness he didn't care, and was completely power hungery, Korriban had effected him greatly. Many things that caused what he lost was because of his arrogance, and his anger. The book was very well written, and really got into the Sith world. There was brief forshadowing in the beginning of who would die, but its hard to catch, especially when it appears later another will die, because of more forshadowing. It was a very good book to end the series with, though it leaves you wanting another one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Summary, October 31, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Final Showdown (Star Wars Jedi Quest #10) (Mass Market Paperback)
The book starts out with Anakin Skywalker fixing his Friends(Tru Veld)lightsaber. Tru, Anakin, and Darra Thel-Tannis are in Anakins room talking. Soon they realize that All of thier masters are in the jedi council room. A mission arises with the known fact that after this mission Ferus Olin(Anakins Rival) Will go to the trials. Anakin knows that this can not happen and thus starts a competion. The Jedi teams are going to the scary planet of Korriban. Legend has it that the sith studied on Korriban...

...A showdown arives with the meeting of Granta Omega. This book has a surprising ending that will make you re-read it before you can actually grasp what happend. The book ends with death, A friendship betrayed and someone will leave the Jedi order...

After reading this book you will wish so much to read the next one. And you will have to wait just as I am waiting for Jude Watson to write STAR WARS JEDI QUEST #11.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Final Showdown, March 11, 2006
This review is from: The Final Showdown (Star Wars Jedi Quest #10) (Mass Market Paperback)
Another great book. I am a new fan of the star wars books, expecially Jude Watson's series. I enjoyed this book, because it gave me a glimpse of what Anakin was like as a teenager, and his relationship to his friends. Even as a teen, it was obvious that Anakin was arrogant, but he was ahead of his peers in so many ways. This story focuses on a group of masters and their padawans being sent on a mission. The Jedi were stretched thin. The Jedi council decide to try an experimental accelerated Jedi Knight program. Of the padawans involved, Ferus Olin is chosen to be promoted first. This of course, sends Anakin into a rage. From that point on Anakin will harass and compete with Ferus on everything. Anakins friends will see how selfish he truly is. The ending is very sad. You feel sorry for all the padawans including Anakin.

I enjoyed this book a lot. When I heard about a Padawan dying, I had my suspecions, boy was I surprised. It does not turn out to be who you think it will be.
In this book we get to see how Anakin becomes influnced by the dark side. But you can't help feeling sorry for him when his world falls apart at the end.

GRANTA OMEGA IS AN EVIL MATERMIND WHO HAS ONE GOAL:TO HELP THE SITH DESTROY THE JEDI ORDER. NOW OMEGA HAS ESCAPED TO THE PLANET KORRIBAN-HOME TO THE ANCIENT SITH LORDS AND THEIR TERRIBLE SECRETS.OBI-WAN AND ANAKIN MUST STOP HIM BEFORE HIS SINISTER POWER GROWS OUT OF CONTROL.
THEY ARE NOT ALONE ON THIS MISSION. ANIKAN'S RIVAL,FERUS, IS ALSO SEARCHING FOR OMEGA, AND ANAKIN SEES THIS AS A CONTEST HE MUST WIN. BUT AS THE DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE BECOMES STRONGER AND STRONGER, THERE IS ONLY ONE GUARANTEED OUTCOME FOR ANY SHOWDOWN:
DEATH.

Wow! I LOVE this book! I liked how on Korriban you learn a little more about the sith and how it shows the power of "him". (the sith) I felt really bad for Anakin in the end, but I won't tell you what happens. Great book, I recomend it to everyone!
