Biography

The group was started with Howard, his wife Vestal, his sister Gussy and a bass singer circa 1946. Howard and Vestal became a duet in the early '50s. In the early '60's brothers Sam(tenor), Rusty(bass), (bass player and soloist) and son Rick (percussion) joined the group and they became The Happy Goodman Family. We always enjoy the Happy Goodmans/especially Howard and Vestal. Would have enjoyed more of the old time favorites, but not in the least disappointed in the performance.

The Final Stand is my favorite CD of The Happy Goodmans. I say that about all of their CDs, but it's true of this one. I guess it is good to end with the best. I attended their concert in Little Rock, AR and was blessed. You will not regret getting this CD. Thank You
