Dark underworld, August 8, 2007
This review is from: The Final Throw (Paperback)
David Rhys Morgan is an undercover cop who works mainly off his own bat in penetrating the really dark underworld of London crime. London police have been trying for some time to make a connection between Randall Blackett, a big time player in the financial world, and organised crime. There are two different stories going on in this book, at first seemingly unrelated, but with the parts coming together to form a very unsavoury whole. The first part of the story has David being hired by a shady travel company to act as a tour guide around Europe, while at the same time, being used as a drug mule, while the second part has him playing the role of a homeless vagrant in order to track down a former employee of Blackett who holds incriminating documents which could cause the downfall of his financial empire. It's a quick read and quite an exciting one, written by someone who obviously DOES understand the world of high finance.
