Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

At the start of the fourth novel of romantic suspense in Stewart's Truth series (after 2005's Dark Truth), Regan Landry-the daughter of a deceased true crime writer who's followed in his footsteps to great acclaim-is floundering around for a new book idea. When fraud at a DNA lab is uncovered and several rape and murder convictions are overturned, Regan thinks she's found her story. She'll write about Lester Ray Barnes, wrongly convicted of murder, now set free. But shortly after Barnes is released from prison, several dead bodies turn up-women whose lips have been smeared with blood and who hold a clump of flowers in their lifeless hands, just like Barnes's purported first victim. Is Barnes, in fact, a ruthless killer, or is someone trying to set him up? Regan, working with her delicious beau, FBI agent Mitch Peyton, is determined to find out. While a revelation about Regan's family comes out of left field and the culminating scene in which the real killer is unmasked isn't exactly surprising, Regan's charm and the novel's fast pace will keep readers turning the pages.

From Booklist

Lester Ray Barnes is released from death row after it is determined that false testimony was given at his trial. True-crime writer Regan Landryn thinks Lester Ray's story has potential, but soon after his release, Lester Ray disappears, and other women begin to die in the same ritualistic manner as his alleged first victim. Regan works with FBI agent Mitch Peyton to find Lester Ray before he kills again, or to determine if a copycat is at work. There isn't much suspense since the perpetrator is apparent, but the fast-paced story holds readers with investigative detail. The fourth in a solid series. Sue O'Brien

5.0 out of 5 stars MORE TWISTS THAN A COUNTRY ROAD., March 20, 2007
I like books like this, full of twists and turns and a page turner besides. As with the other books by Stewart, her character development is without peer. I am certainly not going to go into a plot review with this review as that has already been done here. I will say though that for a throughly enjoyable read for those that enjoy this particular genre, you cannot go wrong with this one. This is a simple read though, one that is good for a couple of nights on the weekend. This too is a plus for me. Recommend this one highly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Author, March 15, 2007
Mariah Stewart is one of the best authors on the market today. This final installment of the "Truth" series was a good read that I found hard to put down.

My only problem was that I thought the culprit was a bit obvious due to one scene early in the book where they didn't seem to fit.

Other than that, there was a great cast of characters and it was a good wrapup to the "mini-series."

5.0 out of 5 stars Always a Winner, January 5, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Mariah Stewart is my absolute favorite writer in her field of writing. Her books grab me from the first few lines and don't let go until the end. When I find a series of books she has written, I make sure I order all of the series at the same time so I can continue my read right on thru to the end of the series. Final Truth is ,as usual, an excellent book, one I have passed along to all my reader friends along with the other books in the series. THIS IS A MUST READ
