Book Description

The Last Gentile Trilogy January 1, 2004
The Final Witness is the terrifying conclusion to The Last Gentile Trilogy. Guided by their young leader, Elisha Kaufman, and his faithful companion Jasmine Hamar, a trail of people, miles long, exit Jerusalem as they run into an incredibly cold desert. Soon God's wrath will pour out on the already terminally ill world. Even now, meteorites are falling to the earth as fiery hail. The world is suffering from a nuclear winter, darkness is everywhere, but during the night a strange luminescent sky hauntingly lights the way. However, that will not last. Stars begin to shift in the heavens, drawing the sun nearer to earth, scorching the planet. What the cold did not kill, the heat will! One world power, one new god, much of the world's population dead or on the run, and the rest thrown into concentration camps, yet, as two witnesses appear from Heaven and call down the wrath of the Almighty God, things can only get worse!

Day 1261, December 26th The sky was an ugly gray with an eerie red hue as the sun tried desperately to burn through the dust and ash, but though it struggled, it would never make it through the residue left behind after the massive asteroid crashed into the earth’s surface. Calvin Fraser’s stocky, black body stood looking out at the desert before him. "What a terrible sight," he thought, as tears rolled down his rugged jaw. The desert floor looked very much like the surface of the moon. Literally thousands of small craters were strewn over the land as far as Calvin’s eyes could see. Small pieces of rock or asteroid, commonly referred to as tektites, had peppered the earth’s surface on nearly ever part of the globe. Calvin did not know it yet, but millions of people had perished earlier that morning as the two-mile-wide death star fell in the heart of the USA.

As the crowd of one-hundred-and-fifty gathered around Calvin, he began to speak softly, "’In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made’."

Leasa Moore stepped up next to Calvin’s truest friend and faithful companion, Cory Parker. She slid her small black hand into Cory’s huge palm and squeezed it lightly. He smiled at her through his own tears but said nothing. What could he say? What could any of them really say since the damage was done? Life had changed so drastically over the last three and a half years, and now it was only going to get worse.

"People," said Calvin, "from today forward we have one task and that is to find every person we can who has not taken the mark of the beast, Carlo Ventini’s ID tag.

We need to organize and break into smaller groups and scour the United States in search of other believers and unite as we preach God’s words. We are God’s final witnesses to the world. The end is coming soon." The air around Calvin and his group of followers was boiling hot, but this would not last. Soon the earth would cool down to an unbelievable level. The air was acidic, and it left a bitter taste in their mouths as they walked back towards the mine’s entrance, where they had been so graciously protected from the barrage of hot, explosive pieces of asteroid debris.

Simon awoke in his private chambers in the United World Organization building just north of Rome. "What a tremendous night’s sleep," he thought to himself. "The only thing that was missing was a woman." They had gotten back from Jerusalem so late that he did not have time to order up one, but he would correct that situation tonight. "We are god’s," he spoke loudly to himself. Oh, how sweet it was to see Joseph and Yvette’s heads lopped off at the altar. Simon smiled at the thought. Deacon’s Horn had been a real nuisance and a thorn in his side, but that was ancient history. This morning only one thought perturbed his mind and that was of Peter Bastoni, Joseph’s brother. This man had developed an antidote to fight off the plague that he and Carlo had planted around the world. Peter had stolen their glory. It was they who were supposed to come to the rescue of the sick and dying, but now even this fact had been turned against Peter. Simon made sure that the world saw all that !

Peter and the other scientists did as evil. He had created a huge deception blaming them for the plague itself and suggesting that they developed their own antidote to make themselves look good. This lie of Simon’s really had worked well, and now not only were all of the Christians of the world hated, but also any associated scientist was hated and maybe even more so. The thought reminded Simon that he had two other scientists to go in search of as well. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

I fell this is a very accomplished writer, we will read great books from him. This book The Final Witness is as good as the first. That is a relief so many series do not follow throw. I would never have believed that this is my kind of thriller, but i'm going to tell you something-the more I read, the more I had to read. In THe Final Witness Cary Bybee has built a world that is rich in fasinating detail, and I could not get enought of it. I am your fan.

Strong writing right through to the end. Bybee's strength is his scientific postulating of how the Tribulation judgments will be manifested. Cause and effect were very interesting.

Bybee has storylines going all around the world and in orbit of all places. The gospel is preached. Some characters leave the scene without firm indication of what happened to them.... gets one to think.

Carlo the Antichrist and Simon are maybe a bit wooden and a little bit like Klink and Schultz of Hogan's Heroes at times. Still it was an exciting read. Just as good as Left Behind and certainly more intellectually challenging as nature self-destructs these last seven years.

Start another trilogy, Cary !!

This book is the last in The Last Gentile Trilogy. I stays true to the rest of the series and is full of excitement on every page. If you like end of times fiction, then you will love this because it is by far the best I have ever read. It is Biblically accurate and full of thrilling events, romance, and suspense.

I highly recommend it
