A Well Kept Secret, August 9, 2010

Like so many other Kath Bloom listeners, I was introduced to her work in a film score about three months ago. She plays and sings with a deep beauty, which formed an instant kinship between us. I detect a unhealed wound in her personal life which is evident in her music. I listened to this album of songs endlessly, and finally had to ask: what happenned my dear? Why did she not achieve her fullest measure of what her talent permits? I believe I now know. After many listens she was an open book, sharing her life generously through her music. The tragedy in her life is the source of what makes her so good. This is a startling personal interchange between the artist and her audience. Go ahead and get this album.
