A Great Book for Animal Lovers, January 18, 2010
This review is from: Finally Winsome: How an Overprotective Dog Came to Need Protection (Paperback)
I was in tears by the time I turned the last page. This true story had me running over and hugging and kissing my two dogs by the time I was done reading. Carle's experiences with her dog are experiences that many dog owners can relate to. Plus, I learned some dog training tips, which was a nice bonus.

A love story, June 17, 2010
This review is from: Finally Winsome: How an Overprotective Dog Came to Need Protection (Paperback)
Finally Winsome by author, Jen Carle is a love story. It is not a romance. It is about the pure love of a devoted dog to her owner. Who among us does not need love like this? Mrs. Carle takes the reader into her family and expresses the challenges and joys of a relationship with an alpha female Lab-mix.
I recommend Finally Winsome to dog-lovers everywhere. Good job, Jen.

Dog Lover's Story!!, March 25, 2010
This review is from: Finally Winsome: How an Overprotective Dog Came to Need Protection (Paperback)
It's the true story of a black labrador--with a few other breeds mixed in--named Winn, and the bond that she and her owner shared. Winn was a rescue dog from the SPCA that Jen adopted when she realized she had a need for something else in her life, to fill a void that relationships with men left empty.
As their relationship grew, so did their family. Winn was very protective of Jen, but as she grew older, their roles would switch, and taking care of Winn was becoming full-time.
This story--every walk she detailed, and every trip she took--reminded me of my own dog. I went for walks with her all the time, back when I was in middle and high school. But I was on the opposite end of the SPCA system; in August of 2005, when she was only 7 years old, Midnight had to come with my mom and me to the Springfield MSPCA. She was a clean and healthy and well-behaved shepherd/retriever mix, we just had to give her up when we lost our house. I can only hope she ended up with a family as loving as Jen's.
Winn's is such a touching story. It was a quick read, finishing it in a matter of hours, and it's truly a good book for any dog lover.
