Alexa and Darius met and fell in love when she was young, co-ed who had been influence by her unlucky-in-love mother's advice on relationships. So instead of trusting that the deep connection they had made was real and long-lasting, Alexa ran away when offered a job in a distant town.

Nine years later after only having one terse, post-breakup phone call with Darius, Alexa and Darius come face to face again due to a wedding of their friends. Although Darius is clearly still bitter and angry about the way things ended, the chemistry between the two of them is still undeniable.

Before long, Alexa is second guessing the decision she made years ago and Darius is wondering if he can trust Alexa with his heart a second time. Family and friends have strong opinions about Darius and Alexa exploring their chemistry or not and these interactions only add to the primary story of how Alexa and Darius will navigate the potential of restoring their strong connection.

Hi Ms. Lisa

This is my first time reading your book by this author, and I have to say that I was not disappointed. I love romance and I am always rooting for the underdog which is usually the man. I know when author write a book they hope the reader get something out of the book beside TALL, GOOD LOOKING MAN & HOT SEX. Not a bad combination either I might add for one love it.

I really hope this was not a STAND alone book, becuase I really want to find out what is going to happen to Eric & Deidre. Reader you will love this book there is some intense moment between the couple, but there is also PASSION between them as well.

Career goals in mind and life long dreams at stake, Alexa Kirkwood decided leaving the love of her life was best after receiving an offer for the job of her dreams. Darius Riverside was a broken man when Alexa walked out the door without an explanation or backward glance.

Nine years later with lots of living behind them Alexa and Darius meet again at their best friend's renewal ceremony. A love thought to be long forgotten seems unwilling to stay silent. Not even hurt feelings and long standing anger can stop Alexa and Darius from rekindling their relationship. Soon the two are moving full speed ahead back into each other's arms throwing caution to the wind.

Living in different parts of the country with separate goals, it will take a lot for two long lost lovers to find the balance necessary in their lives and careers if they want to prevent losing out on a second chance at love.

When you have two career minded individuals trying to find a delicate balance sometimes life doesn't quite work on the schedule we would like. Finally, You and Me is a great example how sometimes young professionals have to really access where their priorities lie. Lisa Harrison Jackson's heroine Alexa was single minded in her focus of making it big in the publishing industry. Time and time again she allowed her self-absorption to interfere and cause pain and strife in her relationship with Darius. A man who knew from the beginning who he wanted by his side showed true forgiveness when he allowed their past hurts to be set aside for a new chance at love.

I will admit to finding it hard to like Alexa and what I considered to be a totally self-absorbed attitude about her life, her relationships and her inability to be completely honest with the man she claimed to love. I'm curious how other readers will view this relationship because even with a happily ever after ending I couldn't help but end the story with the thought Darius deserved better.
