This review is from: Financial Aid for the Disabled & Their Families, 2006-2008 (Financial Aid for the Disabled and Their Families) (Hardcover)
This was a waste of $40. I was looking for advice and information about applying for Vocational Rehabilitation (government scolarship money for disabled) with the State. This is just a list of organizations that sponsor scolarships for the disabled. You can get this info on the Web.
I wanted info that explained how to make your case to the State Vocational Rehabilitation office.

This review is from: Financial Aid for the Disabled & Their Families, 2006-2008 (Financial Aid for the Disabled and Their Families) (Hardcover)
This book has the same structure and style as Kaplan's Scholarships (ISBN-13: 978-1419551444). It is easy to read and understand. Each scholarship is listed with an address, contact telephone number, web site, summary, eligibility requirements, amount awarded (financial data), number awarded each year and deadline. All of the numbers that I called and web sites that I visited were accurate and current. It is not organized by the disability.
It is easy to "scan" through the scholarships and find those that apply to a specific student. There were scholarships listed that were not found for my college students by Scholarships.com. My daughter has ADD and LD and my son has a clotting disorder. It is limited in the number of scholarships for ADD or LDs, such as dyslexia. There are none for clotting disorders. There are many listed for physical disabilities, cancer, hemophilia/bleeding disorders, and other traditional disabilities. NONE of the scholarships in this book are listed in Kaplan's or other nondisability scholarship books. |
