5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Way To Prepare For FRM Exam, January 6, 2010
By
MOMB (brooklyn, NY,USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Financial Risk Manager Handbook (Wiley Finance) (Paperback)
I strongly recommend this book to whoever is willing to take FRM exam.
This book was the only resource I studied to pass the FRM exam.
However, if you're not somewhat familiar to the subject, you may need to study from additional resources.

3.0 out of 5 stars Test Questions are the best part., October 28, 2011

This review is from: Financial Risk Manager Handbook (Wiley Finance) (Paperback)
This book is very useful for studying test questions from actual exams. The questions seem to be a very good indicators of the wordings used in actual exam. About 70-80% of current exam topics seemed to be covered in these past exam questions. Timing of test taking was extremely useful for practice in pacing during actual exams. However, the text contents was not very helpful. The core readings list was much better at explaining the material. The book tries to condense material so that only the essence is covered, but usually ends up being a jumble of concepts and notations. You don't need to read all core readings, just the main ones, and keep only the main points from those articles in mind. If you do this, you are creating your own summaries of essential topics and you will be able to understand those points much better than trying to study the text of this book.
