Book Description

December 2009
In good times or bad, The Financial Physician is the perfect prescription for everyone's financial future.

And these times certainly aren't good! The economy is in free fall, and people everywhere are struggling to survive. Unemployment is at record peaks, business closures are epidemic, and foreclosures have gone through the roof. Lives are being shattered and millions of people are scared to death. They don't know what to do or where to turn.

The Financial Physician examines the 25 most common causes of financial problems. By making analogies to physical health, it will explain, in clear, straightforward language, why each problem occurs, and gives readers practical, well-tested, no-nonsense advice. Each chapter will include a "treatment section" that tells readers what to do and what not to do in order to avoid and cure their money illnesses and enjoy vigorous financial health.

Specific topics that will be covered include:
* Costly mistakes in buying homes, new cars, and insurance.
* Being swamped by mortgages and debt.
* Pursuing the wrong saving, investment, and borrowing strategies.
* Insufficient spousal teamwork.
* Falling victim to incompetent or unethical financial advisors.
* How our psychological makeup affects our financial success.

More About the Author

Louis Scatigna is a financial expert and national radio talk show host who excels in explaining personal finance concepts. Lou has been a financial advisor for 27 years, most of that time as a Certified Financial Planner.

For more than 10 years he has hosted the top-rated radio program "The Financial Physician" in which he answers listeners' telephone questions about personal finances and the economy. Lou gives his audience straightforward advice and stresses the importance of financial responsibilty and financial literacy. His unorthodox approach has made him a maverick who does not hesitate to question and challenge both trendy and traditional accepted financial industry views. He was one of the few who warned of the present financial crisis two years before it started.

In December 2009 Lou's first book "The Financial Physician: How To Cure Your Money Problems and Boost Your Financial Health" was published.

This review is from: The Financial Physician: How to Cure Your Money Problems and Boost Your Financial Health (Paperback)
After watching and reading many books on finance and investing, finally one that is easy to understand as well as well thought out. Mr. Scatigna clearly defines what mistakes people make and how to rectify them in simple plain language. In these troubled economic times this book is a primer every investor should read whether it be a novice just getting started or a professional who needs perhaps to take a step back. Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars it all depends on who you're as a reader, February 11, 2011
This review is from: The Financial Physician: How to Cure Your Money Problems and Boost Your Financial Health (Paperback)
This book provides good advice & introductions for those who just came to realize the importance of saving and investing. I would recommend this book to people newly graduated or those who just entered the workforce. However, if you have read A Random Walk Down the Wall Street, Asset Allocation, David Bach's books, etc, you can finish this book w/in two hours max. In short, this is a good overall introductory personal finance management book.
