Review
"The textbook covers both accounting and financial analysis topics in a way that will be thorough and challenging but manageable for motivated students who do not have any previous accounting background. The text could also be used for a specialized course in financial analysis by students with some background in accounting and finance."
"The Gibson text represents a very good choice for an undergraduate course in financial analysis. It presents the practical aspects of financial analysis in a logical, understandable format which relies heavily on the use of actual financial statements. The assignment materials at the end of each chapter contain a broad selection of questions, problems, and cases which are of varying difficulty. Several of the chapters included in the text are unique to financial analysis texts. They go beyond the generic company and provide insight to the accounting and analysis of specific industry practices, personal financial statements, governmental and NFP entities. The text could be useful in courses for both accounting and non-accounting majors."
