I had this book prescribed for my Finance class. This book suffers from poor organization. While it has useful information, the presentation and layout could be vastly improved. There is no summary at the end of each chapter. C'mon isn't that like a basic these days?
Some important concepts are not given enough treatment like valuing a bond for example. The end of each chapter is loaded with a lot of problems and exercises while there are inadequate sample problems & exercises. This is probably true of many books where authors seem content to unload 200 problems at the end of each chapter. Do they even get the fact that students do hardly more than 25% Max?. Wake up, Professors. We know you are very smart and hold Phds. Think of your customer who is an average student taking many classes. On the other hand, it would have been nice to include lots of worked examples and a concise summary |
