4.0 out of 5 stars "A refreshing view on financial advice for senior"
After completing this easily read piece I realized that this guy gets it! This becomes even more evident especially after reading chapter 15 on annuities. He dispells the myth about this misunderstood catagory of financial products. This is a must read for Seniors as well as advisors that work with them!

Have you ever attended a "Free financial informational seminar for senior citizens" , having been tempted by promises of a free dinner at a nice restaurant or hotel and then been subjected to a high pressure sales pitch? That's what this book reads like. As someone with greying hair who is financially astute and having worked in the financial services industry for over 10 years, my eyebrows were raised on more than one occasion whilst reading this book. I was taken aback by the over- generalizations, glossing over of facts (and more worringly tax laws)that don't support the author's 'financial stategies', and the scare tactics of if you don't have a living trust(supplied by the author no doubt) then you are in grave danger of losing all your assets to probate.

More worringly is the concentration on and recommendation of annuities (a high commision product for salespeople and with high surrender charges for clients) throughout the book as being the best investment available for seniors for all their investment needs. I can only imagine what it must be like for the senior citizen unknowledgable in financial matters to sit down with the author during a 'free consultation'.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this book. Did I mention that it reads like a promotional fluff piece that you might receive from agents of investment companies? 3 Questions You MUST ask your accountant!! 12 Golden Rules for Seniors! Fees Wall Street does not want you to know about!!
Save your time and money on this self-serving tome and look elsewhere for unbiased financial advice.
