About the Author
Thomas M. Cappels is a best-selling author with an extensive background in project management and education. His credentials include over 20 years of experience at Lockheed Martin as project manager on projects such as the Hubble Space Telescope and Space Station Freedom and over 10 years of experience in education as controller of the San Mateo County Office of Education and Course Developer/Adjunct Professor for the University of Phoenix. I've been teaching graduate level project management courses for over a decade, and this book covers every important concept. It also provides the added punch of the financial perspective, offering financial tools and concepts which are vital for successful project management. This is the first text I've found that covers this area, and provides so much valuable information.Students particularly enjoy and easily relate to the clever case studies. Discussion questions at the end of each chapter allow students to apply principles of project management and to share their own experiences and ideas about effective management of differing projects.
