    From Library Journal

Much more than just another library resource guide, this book goes beyond the walls of libraries and out into the offices of experts of all types. Part 1, "Unlocking the Information Vault," describes basic library resources, selected "supersources," U.S. government sources, business information, and computerized research, and includes lots of phone numbers and useful tips. Part 2, "Experts Are Everywhere," covers identifying experts and strategies for dealing with them. Part 3 describes two sample searches. This wonderful book would be particularly useful for business people or writers; some dedicated students might appreciate its scope. Highly recommended for most libraries. Anne Washburn, Julius C. Smith Law Lib., Greensboro, N.C.

    Review

This book will tell you where and how to locate most any information you need. It explains library resources, how to find business information, what's available through the government, and how to decipher electronic media like CD-ROM databases and online resources. Half the battle is figuring out where to even begin looking; Find it Fast is an easy to use roadmap. -- From The WomanSource Catalog & Review: Tools for Connecting the Community for Women; review by Ilene Rosoff --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Step by Step Research Guide., January 12, 2000
I am a Reference Librarian and found this extremely useful. I will be teaching a class at a conference on researching speeches and will certainly put this book in the bibliography. It helps to know not just to go to the library, but which type of library for what you are working on.

Kimberly Stansell (Los Angeles, California) - See all my reviews
When I first came across an earlier edition of this book back in 1992, little did I know that it would help shape me as a professional. My editors and other clients repeatedly comment about how thorough I am with my research methodology and findings. "Find It Fast" helped me become a researcher par excellance. I highly recommend this book particularly to researchers, writers, and authors. -- Kimberly Stansell, author, Bootstrapper's Success Secrets: 151 Tactics for Building Your Business on a Shoestring Budget (Career Press)

This is a must have if you've got to do research. I love the fact that the information presented is not exclusive to searching on the internet.
