I didn't think they required as much light as they do to keep them lit. If I knew the amount required, I would not have bought them. I wanted to use them in stairwells and hallways, which are not exposed to sunlight or electrical lighting very much.

I bought a box of 3 of these recently. The one in the bathroom seems to work just fine. The one on one side of my bedroom nearest an overhead light works okay, too. But the one furthest from a light source ... not so well. So I'm going to try a full-sized plate for the one side of the bedroom that doesn't work so well and some other locations.

I don't feel I wasted my money ... they're just small and don't have much surface area to absorb light.

"charged" the plates for two days then installed them where I needed them to "glow"
basically in the dark hall during the night when the lights are out. Did not happen.
Very dim and ineffective product. Extremely disappointed. Sorry I wasted my money.

These are so simple to install. They actually work. The wall plate will only be really bright if the lights around it are bright throughout the day to charge it up. I'm going to purchase some more for my mother's house.
