No matter what your age is or how confident you think you are - there is always a place in your heart that needs the extra push. Keep this book handy and use it often throughout your life and share it with your friends and family. How lucky the person who has a book like this as they approach their adulthood. This is a book that you will read and re-read and then share with others. Buy more than once copy as you'll want to keep yours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing and full of insight, July 6, 2007
By
Having read my share of self help books -- as both business writer and eager consumer -- I'm seldom surprised by something new. But with "Find Your Courage," Aussie author Margie Warrell truly does offer a fresh take on moving beyond your limitations and going after the life you want. In addition to being very readable, well-organized and inspiring, Warrell's book (unlike so many in this genre) is also very practical -- drawing on her work as an executive coach and corporate speaker and offering thought-provoking exercises to make your dreams reality. Her twelve daily acts of courage, which build from taking responsibility and challenging your stories (my personal favorite!) to the courage to let go and be a leader are as applicable to a fulfilling personal life as to professional success, making this book useful to anyone looking to "live more boldly," as Warrel puts it. I know this is a book I'll come back to again and again and strongly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's the beginning..., November 23, 2009

This is a fabulous book and should be viewed as a "workbook". The content and the exercises are strong. When you purchase this book, open it with the intention to pace yourself and do the exercises. Give yourself time to learn and enjoy, it is worth it. Finding your Courage will change your life, but it's up to you to do the work. I guaranttee if you do, you will find your courage. I have, and every day I get stronger and stronger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stands apart from all the rest - a guidebook on how to really live life, December 12, 2010
This review is from: Find Your Courage: 12 Acts for Becoming Fearless at Work and in Life (Paperback)
This is the preeminent guidebook that provides you with a sensible, straightforward approach to self-actualization and to truly living life to the fullest. It is a succinct, yet comprehensive discussion of how to gain the courage to live the life you really want to lead. Margie Warrell's style is both compassionate and direct. She leverages her own experiences to provide a sympathetic discussion of the challenges we face in all aspects of our lives, and she gives us the strategies and tools to courageously meet those challenges head-on. Nearly every page has a golden nugget of information that the reader will find useful. Ms. Warrell's brilliant assembly of the material and her methodical approach to the subject provides the reader with actionable steps to make real life changes. Having always struggled to find "self-help" books that really gave anything more than a warm-fuzzy feeling, or "just smile and everything'll be fine" strategy, I am really happy to have found this book as it gets to the heart of the matter of just having the courage to get your life in gear. Have a pen handy when you read it as you'll want to mark up key passages, take some notes, and dog-ear dozens of pages that you'll want to revisit later.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book that changed my life... really., February 23, 2010
This review is from: Find Your Courage: 12 Acts for Becoming Fearless at Work and in Life (Paperback)
I can honestly say I have never read a self development guide that has inspired me to such an extent that I would be a changed person as a result, that was until I came across 'Find Your Courage'.

For me, the book was engaging from the first page, the author combines personal reflections, with honesty and humour - whilst sharing insights from inspirational leaders and individuals from around the world.

I believe this book will take each reader on their own personal journey and perhaps uncover those things about themselves they either haven't wanted to acknowledge, or don't even realise they are there. A key highlight are practical exercises for developing self awareness and 'real' strategies for generating change - so it is unlikely to be a book you just read and forget about in a month's time.

I can't express in words what a profound impact this book has had on my own development journey, and I am looking forward to the next book from the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant book on an important subject., September 13, 2010

This review is from: Find Your Courage: 12 Acts for Becoming Fearless at Work and in Life (Paperback)

This book deals with difficult subject, Courage, and how to reach within to find your courage. It gives many scenarios and examples on subjects like 'Saying no', 'setting boundries' and how to not live your life based on false things you have come to believe about yourself. The book applies to life and work situations.

I have recommended this book to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Important Guide for Life, June 17, 2009
This review is from: Find Your Courage: 12 Acts for Becoming Fearless at Work and in Life (Paperback)
Find Your Courage by Margie Warrell: This book is an excellent guide for gaining courage in the work place and in life. The author divides her tips into twelve Acts for Becoming Fearless At Work and in Life. She discusses different types of courage and how to gain it: Courage to take responsibility, live with integrity, challenge the stories you are living and telling, and to dream bigger. When you put courate into action you must be yourself, speak up, take action, persevere, and learn how to say no to what you really know you do not want to do or are not capable of doing. Finally, courage can become, with practice, a way of BEING: living with an open heart, letting go, and being a leader by your actions. This book is filled with wisdom for anyone to apply in any situation. It would make a perfect gift for graduates or those entering a new career.
