Finder Volume 6:Passion Within the Viewfinder has to be the best volume so far in the series!

In this volume, we get to see how Takaba struggles with his job as a photographer and he starts to realize things in his and Asami's relationship. He starts to really question what Asami is to him and also realizes just how much influence Asami has on the underworld. On top of all these questions, Takaba has to deal with a dangerous stalker that harasses an actress but then turns his sights on him! Oh, and Asami doesn't like that one bit(Possessive Seme Alert!!! XD)

Anyway, once again the art is just amazing, and the details in clothing(mainly Takaba's) are just perfect! There is a little censorship but don't be sad! That darn censorship only appears in two parts(that I've noticed) throughtout the whole manga and are so small and barley noticeable that even I almost missed it.

Other than that, I truly believe that this deserves more than 5 stars if it were possible. This is definitely a must have for fans and followers of the Viewfinder series. Please buy it and support the Author/Artist, you won't be disappointed with what you get :D

Again Ayano Yamane leaves me breathless and craving more and more of her work. She has yet to disappoint me in any of her volumes, her artwork is detailed and precise and the storylines, unlike many other yaoi, are actually captivating and get you thinking about the twists and turns within the plot.
In this volume we see Akihito attempting to re-establish his investigative photography career after an "extended vacation", so to speak. We see the daily struggles he goes through without love trysts and the mafia involved, and he is constantly trapped within situations that make him feel as if the world has a terrible grudge against him, like having to compete against a veteran photographer who appears to have no morals. Especially paired with him, we see that Akihito is a very caring and compassionate being, caring more about the well-being of others rather than a juicy scoop.
Asami however refuses to let him simply slip away. He is always one step ahead of Takaba, calculating his every move then sitting back and enjoying the entertainment Takaba gives him trying to rebel. Let's just say that Asami could possess the key to Akihito's future.
And the first (possibly) recurring female character has appeared, and seems to be an ally to Akihito, which he desperately needs seeing as how there are many people trying to disgruntle him. Adding another gender really balances out the reality of the story, in my opinion.
The only slight withdrawal I found was that we are left at an awesomely dramatic cliffhanger with Fei Long, Yoh, and Mikhail. There isn't even mention of a single one of them, and I found that frustrating seeing as how after so long a time getting to know them as human beings, you feel attached to them.

My initial instinct was to give Passion in the Viewfinder five stars, because, well, it's Yamane. However, when I compare it to the multi-book spanning Arc of Truth (Vols 3-5), it's just not up to that level. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it. It was an excellent installment for the Finder series, with hot, explicit sex, and more development of Asami and Takaba's relationship.

Passion returns to the format of the first two volumes in the series - a collection of shorts, rather than one continuous plotline. The stories focus on Takaba trying to rebuild his life, his career and his friendships while also coming to terms with how he feels about Asami and his role in Takaba's life. The format works because Takaba has more than one "assignment" in his job, and after the intense Arc of Truth, something a bit more light-hearted was welcome. Where I think it fell flat was the last story wherein Yamane intertwined the "in love" story, which appeared as a short in Volume 1, with Finder. The original short concerned two young men who are attracted to each other learning that their fathers are in love with each other as well. I wasn't particularly fond of this story the first time (too much school-boy angst), and having the boys go on a school trip with Takaba ending up as a "chaperone" didn't improve it. The few scenes where Takaba learns the danger of dropping Asami's name were funny, but overall it was weak and took up too much of this volume.

I don't mind a return to the short collection format, but I would prefer all the stories be in the Finder universe (e.g. a story about Fei Long dealing with the aftermath of Truth would have been awesome). I would love to read a collection of the other shorts, in a volume distinct from the Finder series, so that Yamane could explore other characters without Finder overshadowing them. Still, this was a fantastic read, and I highly recommend it.

It seems to be the last book of Yamane's series, but is so good. The emotions behind his characters is moving, to the point I had a lump in my throat. What I liked the most was Yamane giving us a glimpse as to how our couple is doing after all was said and done.
