A page turner....., June 19, 2006
This review is from: Finding Amy: Faith on the Line #2 (Love Inspired #263) (Mass Market Paperback)
Book Description (from back-cover):
A Mother's Desperate Search
Jessica Mathers enters the hospital confident that her little girl, Amy, is being cared for. But when Jessica awakes from surgery, her daughter and the sitter have disappeared....
As a favor to his mother, Detective Samuel Vance reluctantly assists on the kidnapping case, because his first impression of Jessica had not been favorable. Yet as together they search for Amy, Sam learns that Jessica is a caring, warm woman. Can they call upon their faith to help them find the abducted girl and forge a relationship?
**** In some ways the back-cover description is not accurate to what the actual book is about. Sam's mom does not pressure him at all to help Jessica with trying to find Amy -- he is the one that initiates this help. However, it is his mom that introduces the two. The other mistake in the books description is that Jessica learns to have faith while trying to find her daughter -- rather than lean on faith she already has.
I found this book to be one of the better *suspence* love inspired books. It was easy to follow (not like others that I have read in the past) and the story-line remained interesting and compelling through-out. I liked both Amy and Sam and I enjoyed their banter as well as how they clicked with one another in terms of a good relationship. The suspence aspect of the story-line kept me wanting to read more. The only draw back is I felt at times that Jessica should of been more emptional than she was.
