More About the Author

Peg Thoms is a Professor of Management in The Black School of Business at Penn State University, The Behrend College. She has over 20 years of management experience in the insurance industry and two universities as well as managing two small businesses. She has done extensive management consulting in the manufacturing, insurance, health care, and financial services industries. Dr. Thoms has won numerous research and teaching awards including the Applied Leadership Research Award from the Center for Creative Leadership. She is the author of four books and the editor of a two volume reference set, Battleground: Business. In addition, she has published 26 refereed research articles. She has shared her research in Sweden, Greece and Scotland.

Dr. Thoms was 45 when she earned her PhD from The Ohio State University after successful careers teaching inner city school children, business start-ups, and management and leadership development.
