I graduated with a B.A. from Columbia International University in Biblical Education, and two Masters Degrees from the University of South Carolina in Elementary Education and Elementary Counseling. With 28 years of experience in public education as a teacher, counselor, and adjunct professor, I currently serve as the counselor at Orchard Park Elementary School. I was privileged to serve as a trustee of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and have held leadership roles in many Baptist churches. I have done mission work in Gaza, Yemen, the Czech Republic, Romania, and China. I have a passion for missions and for teaching God's word, and speaking and singing about what He has done in my life and family.
After my visit to Romania in 2007, I decided to keep the ministry Laity Alive and Serving that my parents, Harry and Betty Dent, started in 1985 open. My husband, Dr. Alton Brant, is an associate professor of American Sign Language and Deaf Studies at Clemson University. We have one married son, Joshua (and precious daughter-in-law Sydney) and twin sons, Jonathan and Harrison.
I have contributed writings for The Chosen Path: 365 Inspirational Messages, Love is a Flame, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Shaping the New You, and online with Christian Devotions. I also occasionally write articles for The Baptist Courier in South Carolina.

Then it might be time for you to be inspired by reading Ginny Dent Brant's Finding True Freedom: From the White House to the World. This is a memoir unlike most you will read. It details the political and spiritual journey of Harry Dent and is told through the eyes of his daughter, Ginny Dent Brant.
Finding True Freedom is an intriguing view of a heart breaking time in our political history through the eyes of Ginny Dent Brant, daughter of Harry Dent, game changing political strategist.
Ginny Dent Brant walks the reader through Watergate years from the unique perspective of being the daughter of Harry Dent, accredited for propelling the southern states into a substantial power during the 60's, 70's, and 80's.
In the whirl of a political nightmare and holding such a key role in the Nixon administration, Harry Dent realized the truth in Romans 2:4 - "....that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance" when he found himself one of the few in the Nixon administration that was not charged with wrong doing.
Harry Dent surrendered his life to God after several conversations with his daughter and several miraculous events in his life.
God does wondrous things in ways even the wisest of men and women would not predict. Such is the case in the life of Harry Dent. After surrendering his life to the Lover of his soul, he founded Laity Alive, a ministry dedicated to training pastors in Romania.
This memoir is the story of one man's journey to faith and is written from a loving daughter's perspective.Read more ›
Yes, that Harry Dent. In Ginny Dent Brandt's book Finding True Freedom: From the White House to the World, Brandt tells us what it's like to grow up in Washington, and she tells us about everything her father accomplished during his time there. One of President Nixon's "Inner Circle", Dent helped shape Southern Politics as we know it today, and was among those thrust into the limelight during the Watergate Scandal. The Watergate Scandal devastated not only Harry Dent, but his entire family.
This book isn't all about Watergate, however, but it does offer a truthful look at how everything really went down. No, this book isn't about Watergate, really - it's about a father and daughter. Growing up the daughter of an influential Washington, DC assistant and advisor, Ginny learned to rely on her faith and belief in Jesus Christ as her unchanging foundation in life. Though her father did not immediately care for her faith, he eventually found the heart of Christ as well. Harry Dent's newfound love for Jesus Christ, along with his political influence, lead him to the Republic of Romania where he is able to share not only political knowledge, but - more importantly - the message of God's unyielding love through Jesus Christ.
I grew up with Ginny Brandt as my elementary school guidance counselor. She helped me through difficult times in my own childhood. Her mission work with her father in Romania also put her in contact with my childhood Pastor.Read more ›
The reader will recognize the characters that were involved in Watergate and history. Many of us are blessed enough to personally know the Dents and the Brants around whom this story is centered. More than fifteen prominent people whose names you would recognize have highly endorsed this book, among whom are Mike Huckabee, Chuck Colson and many others. Expect to see this new author who is a dear friend of mine on talk shows soon. This book will be of interest to Christian and non-Christian alike. Both fiction and non-fiction readers will be unable to put it down. It is truly a page turner.
As a Christian and a friend of the Dents, I was intrigued to see even deeper into the story of how Jesus Christ completely transformed this powerful man who was passionate about politics into a man of God who was passionate about his "new boss". Readers will be moved to tears as they see the courageous and loving young daughter pray for and stand strong for Jesus Christ until a dismissive father on things of God can no longer ignore the change he sees in his daughter and son-in-law who were willing to risk famiiy relations and their own personal relationship to follow Jesus Christ. This is a read that will stay with you.Read more ›
