Book Description

May 1, 2006
“I went out full and the Lord hath brought me home empty again.” —Ruth 1:21a As in Naomi’s case in the Bible’s book of Ruth, today there will likely be times when every believer arrives at a desolate place in the heart, truly crushed in spirit for whatever reason. Finding Fullness Again by Pastor Ralph Douglas West takes an encouraging look at the story of Naomi and Ruth to remind readers that they too can keep pressing forward—not just running on empty—despite the weight of their cares. With God all things are possible, even a brand new start in life. “Let the old things pass away,” Douglas says. “Let everything that God wants for you become new.”

5.0 out of 5 stars A book to enjoy in all seasons, July 5, 2006

This review is from: Finding Fullness Again: What The Book of Ruth Teaches About Start Over (Paperback)
Such a fabulous book for Bible readers and future Bible readers! If you don't find yourself in the first category, you will find yourself in the latter before finishing "Finding Fullness Again".

Whether we consider ourselves on an upswing or downswing in life, we will find ourselves throughout the pages of "Finding Fullness Again". I found myself smiling and at the same time reflecting while enjoying "Finding Fullness Again".

"Finding Fullness Again" encouraged me to appreciate the words God uses to lift the lives of our relatives from the pages.

"Finding Fullness Again" encourages me again and again not only to know it is okay to start over again and again, but to appreciate the new starts. It also encourages me to help others who are starting fresh again. God lets us start over again and again each time we confess and He forgives us. He grants us new mercies each day. That speaks volumes about the value of starting over again and again AND again. We couldn't have a better example!

Thank you Ralph Douglas West!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great to Share with Others, July 8, 2006
This review is from: Finding Fullness Again: What The Book of Ruth Teaches About Start Over (Paperback)
This book begins with wonderful illustrations and you find yourself a part of the story of Ruth whether you have read the story before or for the first time. The idea that God provides us with an opportunity to start over again is resounded throughout the pages of the book.
The book covered some touchy issues, but did not leave anyone out who should, needs to, wants to start over again! It dealt with the heart of issues that so many people face. I can't think of a group that was left out! Share this with someone who needs to see the story of Ruth in this light.
What a refreshing read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Earnest, gentle, and memorable exploration of loss and gain in the Christian journey, March 11, 2010
This review is from: Finding Fullness Again: What The Book of Ruth Teaches About Start Over (Paperback)
Dr. West's book Finding Fullness Again (FFA)is an earnest, gentle, and memorable exploration of loss and gain in the Christian journey. With theological, historical, personal and semantical illustrations, this book is a must read for believers before, during and after their valley experiences. Prior to rdg. this book, to me, Ruth was a depiction of God's favor and protective love. Wherever God sends me, I have a Boaz/protector and I've been the same for many. "We all know something about living without consolation." Dr. West's book, FFA, brings God's healing, viewpoint, hope, and joy to disappointed, disillusioned and discouraged Saints. In Finding Fullness Again you'll breathe, feel and laugh deeper as you start over.
