Okay, so everyone has to do things they don't like or that might be particularly boring. Take me for example, I am an expert on credit and debt collection. How exciting and funny is that? I teach businesses and credit managers how to implement credit policies, how to check credit, how to extend credit, limit their risk and how to collect from past due customers. SO...I bought Jan's book so that I could incorporate some humor into a very un-humorous topic. I found this book to be full of great ideas, tips and helpful advice. I bent so many pages that I am just going to go through it again when I write my next speech, which is for a bunch of members of a Seed Association and how they can get their customers to pay. A recovering bill collector trying to make jokes about debt when the economy is in the toilet. Priceless.

In this day and age when so many people seem to think one has to use foul language or vulgar innendo in order to be funny it is very refreshing and uplifting to see a sucessful commendian that can take everyday life experience and turn them into the "funny" in a setting that would be appropriate for all audiences.

This is a great book for anyone who needs to write (or say) something funny without taking years of comedy classes. The author gives lots of quick, practical tips for finding the humor in something and using it on the spot. Plus, the jokes she uses along the way make it an entertaining read. If you're a writer, speaker, or just someone who works with clients and coworkers, you should spend an hour with this short book.

I have always struggled with writing comedy for my ventriloquist routines. After reading Finding the Funny Fast by Jan McInnis this should change. This book gives great instructions for finding humor all around you.
