I became involved in Centering Prayer after reading Thomas Keating, OSB. To me, Keating is all about the psychology of centering and one can get lost in his theory and diagrams. I read Pennington in the 80's and rediscovered him while searching for other books and approaches to Contemplative Prayer and Centering. Pennington had a way of sharing on a very intimate level and is books are a wonderful collection of his life and personal journey of faith. Basil Pennington, OSB is a must read for anyone interested in the Contemplative Prayer/Centering movement it is a much warmer and easier read than some of the books written by Keating on the subject.

This author is another Trappist Priest who brings to light the deep treasures of a faith in Jesus, the Christ, Lord and Savior! And once again, thanks to Amazon.com for my ability to purchase at a reasonable price.
