I usually don't write book reviews but I'm starting to if they are exceptionally good. This book...WOW! I read it in 2 days and was enthralled, which says a lot because I have 4 young kids and a husband! Lots of surprises and interesting insights throughout the book. I found myself actually looking forward to when my baby woke at night because it was an excuse to read more! It was a clean book with hardly any swearing and no sex scenes so young adults can read it. I will look for more books from this author.

John Kess has taken a subject that is unfortunately too familiar to us all, and handled it with gentleness, wisdom, and compassion. He allowed us a glimpse into the lives of a family torn apart by kidnapping and the internal struggles of family members and friends as they embark on a search with an uncertain outcome. Mr. Kess shows much promise as a young author, and I look forward to his next novel

I am a nightly reader and usually read until I can't keep my eyes open any more. It usually only take me 30-45 minutes before the book falls onto my nose, but this book kept me up till 3 am. The characters are relatable, the plot quick moving, and I just couldn't put it down.

Interesting story line, but the writing was rather simplistic. Character personalities seemed almost too "good" to be true.
Had to read to the end, though, and enjoyed the characters' perseverance.

Finding Hannah is an engaging and touching story from beginning to end. I started reading one morning and could not put it down until I finished. I know it is written for young adults, and I am way beyond that age,yet I found it to be one of the best reads in a long time. Well written with complex and completely believable characters. I look forward to reading more novels by John Kess.

I started reading Finding Hannah this afternoon and finished early this morning! This is a suspenseful page turner dealing with pain, loss, and young family. The main characters Dylan and Molly meet following the kidnapping of Dylan's older sister, Hannah. Dylan, driven by guilt and anger and Molly, driven by loneliness and a drive to belong join forces and never give up on finding Hannah. Molly, with a drug riddled, physically violent existence with her mom and mom's boyfriend find solace in the stability and solid foundation found in Dylan. The setting in the Appalachians in New Hampshire capture the reader's imagination a young love quietly blossoms out of tragedy.

This book was an interesting enough read, but the writing was a little lax at times. Through most of it it's written like a high school age boy might talk, which is a little frustrating for anyone with a more advanced vocabulary. I'd say it's a good read for the 15 & under crowd.
